Question:
I'm looking to buy my husband a new scent. I tested Platinum Egotiste and it was nice, have not yet found tester of Antaeus, but it sounds devine. I found someone selling both very cheap so I want to buy one before its gone, but which one. Hubby is 38, funky and very intelligent. Looking for something he can wear all the time. He told me to pick something I like, Thank you from a newbie.

Hm, I think both are a little too 'formal' to wear all the time. But I think that Platinum Egoiste is easier to wear on a day to day basis.

Definitely Antaeus. It is a better fit based on your description of him IMHO.

Well, the 2 are very, very different.
If you want funky and intelligent, then Antaeus is it. However, it only works in cool and cold weather, which you may have in Canada (right??). It is worth smelling before buying. It's pretty dark and rich.
P Egoiste will work year round in a variety of situations, day or night, warmer and cooler weather, etc... It is not as bold or unique as Antaeus, but you get versatility w/the sacrifice.
If you like Van Cleef and Arpels Pour Homme and roses, Antaeus is it. It's good most of the time, but not as effective for casual or warm weather use. It tends to "blossom" in the heat.
So you actually might go with P Egoiste...

Platinum Egoiste is the conservative option of the two. If you like it already, I say pick it right now and worry about Anteaus later, even if it costs more money than your option today. Go with the scent you know and like.
Both are fine scents.

I'm not a fan of Platinum Egoiste, so I'm going to have to recommend Anteus. If you have a chance, pick up a bottle of the original Egoiste, the PerfumePizzaz's I've been to all carry it, and it is an excellent cologne indeed.

Platinum Egoiste rules. It's not really "FUNKY"..it's more clean and refreshingly masculine.

I've never smelt Antaeus but I love Platinum Egotiste! It's perfect for cold or warm weather and good for casual and formal events. Can be worn night or day and a perfect all around scent.
It smells good on me as a 15 year old and probally will smell amazing on your husband. It's a good choice and I think you should go with this scent. I have to say it isn't my favorite scent in my wardrobe but I do like it more than others.
