New: Chanel Allure Sport Eau de Cologne.
Question:
I was in London the past 2 days, while at Selfridges I tried the new Allure Cologne Sport. Not the Eau de Cologne from Les Exclusifs Collection, yet another Eau.
Strangely I didn't read anything about this Chanel release till a few days ago, when it was featured in the french ELLE.
First I find that Chanel should have given this new fragrance another name, as it has not much to do with the original Allure Sport. No indeed, to my taste at least, it's much better. Nothing ozonic here, very fresh at first with lots of citrus. Though during the evolution on my skin it reminded me of an other fragrance. If Allure Sport was Chanel's answer to Acqua di Gio, this new Cologne Sport version is family of Cologne Mugler (which already inspired Creed's Vetiver Original). Once the citrus topnotes have evaporated, (while the personnality stays fresh) they make place for soft skin-like musky soapy notes.
I can't believe this is an eau de cologne concentration as it is very longlasting (and my skin does nothing good to citrus). Here Chanel beats Mugler.
As for the packaging: the bottle is clear, with a pale green juice. The cap is brushed silver with a black ring.
Great new addition to the Chanel line. They should even discountinue the mediocre Allure Sport and make out of Allure Cologne Sport their new star.

Answer:
Sounds like a must-try for me!
Any idea if/when this will hit the States? Maybe I'll ask next time I'm at the Chanel counter over at Von Maur or Macy's.

Answer:
That would be a third reincarnation of Allure.
Haven't tried the EDC version yet, but looking forward to it by the sound of it.
Allure Homme Eau Fraîchissante pour l'Été was my favourite of them all.

Answer:
It's at Chanel counters here in Canada this week.

Answer:
To be honest... I love the fragrance. It reminds me of another neroli/bitter orange based fragrance that I can't seem to place at the moment... perhaps a Goutal. I havn't sampled it, so I have yet to comment on the lasing power. The bottle sizes are quite generous to accomdate the "light" fragrance dynamic.
I consider this a winner...
a.

Answer:
Thanks Cedric...I knew nothing of this either......Sounds exciting......Gary

Answer:
Sounds like just what I need. I've been reluctant to replace my Mugler Cologne bottle that went bad because, well, it went bad. I'll definately be looking into this one.

Answer:
Ooh can't wait to try this one!!! I probably won't get a bottle 'cause I have a lifetime supply of Mugler Cologne, but this one definitely sounds worthy of a sniff or two!

Answer:
I've tested it two days ago and perfectly agree with you Cedric. It's indeed far better than the mediocre Allure Homme sport, but I also have to say that's not in cologne concentration it's indeed an edt that's been named just cologne to follow the new trend of naming everything cologne (seems a new trend after naming everything black...).
Anyway the juice is nicely good with a bitter-zesty opening over a greener heart and a light woody yet muskily warm base. Staying power is ok. Not a star in the sky but finally just another decent "Sport" cologne on the shelves.

Answer:
does it smell like creed's original vetiver???
