Miller et Bertaux Green, Grren, and Green
Question:
My sample arrived today. Let me say what a huge let-down this is. Be cautious of the fragrance. Why? It is syngeneic to an already well known and loved fragrance. Which one? Ok, it is an exact copy of Hermes Un Jardin en Mediitereanee!!!!! I mean, listen, I am not saying it is simialr, I am say that the hous of Miller tried to down-right reproduce Hermes down to the core! Not only is G^3 not as refined in quality and texture, it does not last as long either. Spend the few extra dollars and get the Hermes instead!!!!! Answer: Thanks for your review of this one. I was curious about it and will probably get a sample, but I haven't smelled the Hermes, so I'll have to smell that one too. I hate it when scents are so similar. I'm getting to the point where I can detect alot of differences between OV and Mugler Cologne; but at first they were identical. Thanks again for checking it out. Answer: Hermes and MeB have more in common than OV and Mugler's Colonge. Yes, my nose can detect some very discrete differences but those differences are not worth mentioning for if you know what one smells like, the outher is a test tube copy! Answer: Odd. I got my sample of M&B's G,G & G yesterday. Didn't smell figs, thought it was an OK scent, not citrusy-as most ' greens ' but, really nothing to write home about. I've heard quite a lot about Un Jardin en Mediitereanee, but haven't sampled it yet. Is it really that much better? MeB G^3 has that distinctive Mint-Fig combination that is the essential component of Hermes. Once you have worn Hermes, you will be able to detect the Mint-Fin combo. Yes, to my nose it is in the Miller fragrance. Answer: This is a late reply to this thread from 2005... I just got 'Green, Green, Green and Green' by Miller et Bertaux as a gift for Easter and I haven't written about it on Basenotes yet. I have to agree with the original post - when I sprayed it on I got that 'instant' feeling of familiarity (where have I smelled this smell before...?) It took me almost a few hours before I realized it was Un Jardin Mediteranee by Hermes. I do not own UJM, but I have sampled it at Sephora more than once and it has quietly sat on my 'scent I'm going to buy soon' list for a while. So, it was a kind of nice surprise to receive GGGG as a gift. I don't know if its the fig thats similiar or the cedar. Both scents smell REALLY alike. The sillage is OK (I wore it to Easter Brunch and noone commented on it though...) and the bottle is really cute. It has these glass green spheres, rolling around in the juice. Not sure if I would recommend this to 'green' scent lovers though - if it was a blind sample and I sniffed this, the first description out of my mouth wouldn't be 'green'. I used to say UJM smelled like a fruit salad blended with chopped tree bark - this seems to go for GGGG too. Anyone else out there in BN own this, like this, have comments? Answer: I owned this and went through a half bottle, then sold it away. Really liked it alot, but longevity was not that good, and I met Creed OV and fell in love. Answer: I had a sample of this once and really liked it. I think the concept is to put all "green" notes in the fragrance. From what I remember I got mostly vetiver and green apple from it. Answer: From what I can recall from the one time sampling, I really did like this one, but that was about two years ago... My girlfriend has asked me to seek out the perfect green for her and this has been on my list to resample for possible purchase, but so also is the Jardins from Hermès among a lot of others. Answer: Yeah - the UJM similarities are uncanny (Hermes must be pissed!) but I kind of like the lower longevity on this. I think the cedar in a longer longevity (like in UJM) can be a little off putting. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
