Rosine Twill Rose vs. C&S No. 88 vs. Malle Une Rose
Question:
I'm looking for a rose fragrance (I LOVE Le Labo Rose 31 but I need more rose). I've read a lot about C&S No. 88, Malle Une Rose, and have heard a little about Rosine's new Twill Rose. Has anybody sampled all three? How do they compare? I'm looking for a fresh, green, easily wearable and woody rose. Other suggestions are welcomed. Answer: I haven't tried C&S88, but if you want green, go for Twill Rose! I card-sniffed it on Saturday and was instantly smitten. A delightful rose scent with a freshly-cut grass feel. Une Rose is "dirtier", earthier and has a wine-like smell. Answer: chanel 19, rosine rose pour un homme or rose d'homme or something it's called, dyptique l'ombre dans l'eau Answer: No. 88 is probably one of the finest rose fragrance created for men; I get a killer rose-bergamot-vetiver accord which alerts and soothes my senses at the same time. The le labo Rose is decent, but it doesnt really play in the same league. Answer: You want a green rose, then I'd suggest SL's Sa Majesté la Rose. Whenever I sniff it I smell green (pre-blossomed) roses. C&S 88 is open rose flowers to me. Answer: ps: no 88 rules, but it's not green Answer: Someone on the forum PLEASE let us know when Twill Rose becomes available in the US. THANKS!!! They are about 2 ml and well worth the price IMO. I have ordered samples from LS in the past and highly recommend them. Answer: I agree with Supermarky - from my sampling of it (I am actually wearing it right now) I find nothing 'fresh' or 'easy wearable' about this scent. It's more like an evil rose scent to me (right up there with A.maze) I know you didn't suggest it - but what about Rose Ikebana by Hermes (Hermessence)? Little pricier, but a Jean Claude Ellena jewel & 'so fresh..so clean' Having said that...I am in awe of No. 88 & I want more than just a sample now. Answer: No88 and Une Rose (whatever their merits - and there are many) do not fit your original request for fresh and green. I think it's quite a difficult brief actually. Rose by its nature is voluptuous, thick and un-green - but we all know that a modern perfumer can take a note as a starting point and take it pretty much anywhere. The Rosine line is more in line with your request. Twill Rose is lovely and Rose Pour Une Homme is relatively restrained. My tip is Elizabethan Rose by Penhaligon, it has that open, relaxed, very wearable feel that I get from most of their scents. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
