If you had $150...
Question:
What would you buy right this instant? I've just alotted myself that much to blow on fragrance, whether it is one bottle, or several - and I have my thoughts, but I was wondering what you all might purchase if say, a little birdie dropped you $150 out of nowhere. Answer: Bois d'Ombrie - Le Sirenuse Eau d'Italie 120.00 plus shipping 10.00 The last $20, I would spend on a sample of C&S No. 88. Answer: Man, is that ever a tough question for me to answer, but here goes! I could buy two 4.2 oz. bottles of the fast vanishing Nicole Miller for Men, which I love, and may yet, or I could buy the largest spray atomizer of Caron's magnificent Poivre extrait parfum from the wonderful Madison Avenue boutique (to pair up with my atomizer of Tabac Blond extrait parfum), and may yet, or I could buy Clive Christian's X for Men (probably the small bottle on the grey market), and may yet, or I could buy one Montale Oud scent and have a little left over, and may yet, or I could just pocket the $150 and get busy smelling the several thousand dollars of scent that I already have! Perhaps this exercise has given you a useful idea or two. I'd love to hear what you eventually do! Jeff Answer: I'll just make that 150 euros for this... 1. Body Kouros (not that sure) 2. Vettiveru (would be a blind buy) 3. The brightest one of the CDG Incense Series (haven't smelled all of them yet) You see, I am so not prepared for someone handing me 150 € for fragrances... Answer: Spend it on the many Bond no. 9 and L'Artisan bottles on Ebay right now ! Answer: OH? Are they cheap?? Hmm...I'll go and check on them now... Well, the addendum to this post would be that I'm going into NYC this weekend and will have a plethora of options. So think scents only available in NYC... Answer: I would buy without hesitating Czech & Speake No. 88. Answer: MarkDavid, Try out Tuberose 40 at Le Labo. You can only purchase this in the NY store in person. How is that for fragrance snobbery? I love Le Labo's offerings but this is a joke as far as marketing is concerned. They won't ship it anywhere. Answer: Originally Posted by costello I would buy without hesitating Czech & Speake No. 88. I'd second this. Answer: To be honest with you - Le Labo is on the top of my mind. I think I might be going there with my $150. Rose is the one that I really am going to check out. However, I am a new fan of white florals, I've fallen hard for them. And I like exclusivity. I was also really considering the Frederick Malles as well. I know I smelled them all many years ago but thats when I really wasn't as much as a fragrance freak as I am now. Carnal Flower and Musc Ravageur are my sniffing goals at FM. Although I hear Guerlain has a few exclusives in their BG Boutique... Options Options...
