Good fragrace pickup in Europe? - Page 2
Question:
Many thanks for the suggestions.
Jules looks like one I should try sometime.
The Davidoff looks interesting, but god I almost feel like I already owned that one a long time ago.... Anyway, I think my next Davidoff will be Good Life because I like the fig note in Marc Jacobs very much.
Buying the Lancome blind would not bother me. I do that all the time and everybody here is so versed that you can really get a sense for whether it will work if you research enough. And you can always sell something in demand if you don't like it, you know. But the lavender in that is concerning. Some of the sweet scents that I don't like have lavender, so I'm not certain there.
Where would one go over there to find the Lutens creations, or would many nice places carry them?

Unfortunately the Serge Lutens "exclusives" are exclusively sold at his own boutique in Paris but can be ordered online if you have an European delivery address. They do not ship to the US or elswhere outside Europe. The Serge Lutens boutique seems to be one of THE places to go if youre in Paris besides the Guerlain boutique where they sell also "excusives" like e.g. the otherwise discontinued and wonderfull Derby.....

Answer:
I know that if I were going to Paris tomorrow - I would make it a point to return with an exclusive Serge Lutens and an exclusive Guerlain. The best of the best, no doubt.

Answer:
Thank you everybody for the suggestions. I will make a short list and pass it along. I'll let you know what she comes back with and how it wears on me.

Answer:
Final response to an older thread here. The fragrance pickup was Chamade by Guerlain. I thought it was too floral with I first smelled it in the bottle, but once applied it different than that - much more of a light woody scent and more masculine. It is nice, very light but long lasting and it has a transparency that makes it fresh for a woody scent. It seems of high quality and I really like it. Thank you all for your suggestions - this worked out great!
