and what was it that put you off it in the first place? Jicky-the civet note. It's such a widely liked fragrance here at Basenotes, so I've given it several tries to see if I "get it", but each time I smell it I'm totally repulsed.

Thrax was nice enough to send me some when I had it on my try list, and I'm glad it happened that way as opposed to buy a whole bottle. Like you, I tried four or five times to give it a shot, but it just didn't happen.
Another two I can't stand but WANTED to like are Kingdom and SL Santal Blanc, probably because of the way they do cumin (it took me until Montale Greyland to find a cumin I can wear). One that I respect a lot but just couldn't make work for me was Yatagan.
I foresee something coming soon in this thread, though. Where are the Kouros haters??? (I love it, of course!)

so far bergamot root in caron pour homme and jaipur. And anything that smells strongly of Iris does appeal to me. As to why and when. I haven't a clue. Horses for courses.

As popular fragrances go - I think Joop! is disgusting for any male to wear, and *gasp* Egoiste I cannot stand for some reason - it has the same sweet note to it that is in PI and it disagrees with me.

Smells like cologne mixed in with body oder. It makes a guy smell as if he hasn't showered. I don't dig this one at all.
