Envy for Men
Question:
Hiya,
I've just recently joined Basenotes and have some questions, regarding Envy for Men:
1) Is the juice really green?
2) Can you tell me as much about it without me having to engage any brain cells?
3) Most importantly, will the chicks dig it?
Sorry, but I'm too lazy to do the basic research myself.
What a wonderful and understanding bunch you all are.
Many thanks (kissy, kissy).

Answer:
HAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Your thread reminded me of Azsmells' newbie one!
But prepare it to be locked!

Answer:
1. Yes the color really is green. Sort of a chartreuse green, like the color of a newly opened leaf.
2. It is a sweet, though not excessively sweet fragrance with a lot of spices and a wood base. I would say that it is warm with a medium tone. It would best be describe it as an evening scent but you may be able to pull it off in an office setting. Longevity is great. I consider it one of the safer choices out there in that it does everything well, really has no major weaknesses and is well liked by most.
3. As long as you don't over apply I think most women will find it appealing and very few will find it objectionable. It is good to remember though that women don't date fragrances, they date men (well some date other women). A bad scent, be it body oder, over application of fragrance or a poor choice of fragrance will drive women away but a good fragrance choice will not get you dates. At best it will get you noticed, giving you an opportunity and from there you will have to win her affections with who you are and not how you smell.
In my situation I have been explicitly told by my lady friend that I should NEVER wear Vera Wang for Men unless I can sleep over with her. So I guess that is my money scent right now.

1) You said it's sweet - will it rot my teeth?
2) Over apply? 20 spritzes should be okay, no?
3) Vera Wang? Who is she? How much does she cost?

1. Sweet but not excessively so.
2. It is really hard to judge the projection of the scent you are wearing. Always good to get a friend to give feedback. I would likely use 3 spritzes. That would be a good place to start and adjust.
3. Vera Wang is easily available at least hear in the US and it can be had on Ebay relatively inexpensively. I think my 100ml bottle cost about $20 with shipping. I personally find it a better chick magnet then Envy but that is just my experience. The initial hour or two is a very provocative tangy scent and the drydown is a very pleasing, "get close to me" scent. The major complaint on Very Wang is longevity. Most find it really fleeting. My personal experience is I get a good 6 hours even under challenging situations. For example when I first tested it I applied 4 squirts, went to the gym and worked out for 90 minutes working up a major sweat. I then showered with soap and I still clearly smelled it 6 hours after applying.

Answer:
6 hours??? Wow, that's cheap!!!
4 squirts? Hmmm... I think I've got some competition here... 2 squirts would be okay for Vera, no? I mean, I don't want to embarrass myself.
