Belts that go higher on the waist
Question:
I finally bought 2 belts today that go around your waist, woo hoo! A red one and a cream one, from Supre. I never thought I'd be an XS in a belt at Supre, but this is the only size that didn't leave a whole lot of excess belt material at the end.
Anyway, my question is, I see girls with certain tops wearing them with belts that are really high up, like higher than the waist...how do they keep them up there? I tried tightening mine to within an inch of its life, and it still dropped down to the waist area...which with one of my tops, is a bit too low to look really good. (eg., the seam of material on the top ends up being a bit higher than the belt if the belt sits at my waist)
Is it just a case of some girls having different shaped bodies/waists? If I didn't have such wide ribs or an hourglass type waist thing, maybe it'd be able to go up higher and stay there, etc? Is that it? I'm a total newbie with belts being worn like this!
Also, I often find the belt at the back is higher than it is at the front...I can adjust it so it's even, but it also feels natural to be higher at the back...yet before, I saw a woman whose belt was lower at the back and higher at the front! What?

Answer:
Well it sounds to me like your Supre belt is not a waist belt - just a regular belt (i.e. to be worn on the hips), but since you got such a small size you can wear it on the waist too. If you're looking for shorter belts that fit well on the waist, I suggest you look for actual 'waist belts' - often they are labelled as such. Waist belts are everywhere! I dare say that's probably what most girls you see are wearing.

Answer:
Hey!
I have a curvy hourglass figure and I wear waist belts that have a feature at the front, and sort of elastic around the whole of the belt. you just have to be sure they are waist belt specific

Answer:
Oh yeah, I know the elastic ones you mean I think, the one with the clip things at the front? I've had issues with these. I love them but haven't actually seen that many around the place, and the ones I have tried are just too big. I know they're elastic, but once I put them around my waist and lock the things together, it just hangs loosely.

Answer:
There are heaps of elasticated waist belts around.
Not all have a clip - I got a really cute one with a button from Witchery.. and I have one with a buckle as well.

Answer:
But like, the ones with buttons or clips, how do you adjust them so they're not too long? UGH! Bane of my existence!
