I tend to agree with you.....don't really know if this thread will work
There seems to be lots of 'what should I wear' questions but not many answers to each question, therefore people wanting to get different opinions and suggestions can't really.
yeah but anyway, just my thought...

its really just like most other bars, there are always the people there that are really dressed up, and the ones that are less so.
its fairly dressy, but it depends on your style. i would say jeans/shorts, a nice top and heels would be fine, but it really depends on what sorta stuff youre into!

I have a job interview this week at a top-tier law firm. It's just for part time work while I'm at uni, but I really want this job! Problem is I have never had any type of corporate job, only retail so I'm not certain on what to wear.
Today I bought, from Cue,
*Suit (black) - jacket, skirt, pants.
*Shirt
I've just tried the skirt on again now, and I think it may be too tight. It's not really tight, its just fitted - but my dad in particular thinks I need to be a little more conservative.
It is below knee length, has ruffles sewn along the bottom, and is quite fitted at the thighs. I love it, but now I am worried. I tried the 10 on and it was ok, but sat lower (on hips, so longer length) and didnt have as much shape. The Cue girl talked me into getting the 8 - she said it will stretch heaps and this one gives me shape.
Sooo..should i swap the skirt for the 10? Or should i look for a plainer skirt, rather than a fitted one? I really want to wear a skirt to the interview (espec as its going to be 33C).
Also, what shoes to wear? Are black flat pointies ok or should I wear heels?
Thanks girls, I'm really unsure

Answer:
Ellie85 I think your outfit sounds ok. Its hard to say though for a top-tier law firm because they are so corporate. I would probably go for a pencil skirt myself as I wouldnt feel comfortable wearing something that I wasn't 100% sure about.
With shoes, I think you should wear heels, either round toe or pointy and don't wear open toes
Once you have the job, that Cue skirt will probably be suitable to wear around the office, but for interviews I think I would invest in something more classic, just to be on the safe side
Good luck!

Answer:
Ellie your outfit sounds great.
The skirt sounds lovely and if you wear a blazer with it then I think it will look corporate enough and perfect, but if you dont wear a blazer then it might not work out.
I think you should wear heels.

Oops, I just noticed this thread after I started a post on what to wear on a CASUAL LUNCH DATE. hehe
I'm really stuck on what shoes to waer. I will be wearing jeans and I love my stilletos, trainers or thongs. I dont like flat shoes.
Stilettos may be too OTT for lunch but trainers or thongs may be to casual? HELP

Answer:
Ellie85 I agree with glamagirl's point in that your suit would be fine to wear once you got the job, so don't buy the size "just" for the interview (if you think the 8 looks/fits/feels better, keep it). It's probably even okay to wear to the interview, as long as it looks professional and polished. But if you want to be very safe and conservative (I don't mean that in a negative way, but you never know who will be interviewing you and their opinion about these things), you could do as glamagirl suggested and go for more of a classic cut skirt.
Some people/firms also have opinions on the necessity of hoisery, so I'd prolly suggest you wear a pair of sheer stockings. Prolly not a dealbreaker, but wearing stockings just makes you looked more polished. If you don't want to wear them on the way to the interview coz it's too hot, just arrive a little earlier, and put them on in a toilet (just find a public toilet nearby). You can use the firm's toilet after your interview (just ask reception) and take them off
