my 'tip', or i guess mainly a detail im insistent on that has grown into a pet hate, is how seams meet....making your seams meet just makes a garment look much more polished and its likely to make sewing the rest much easier!
aside from that..im a no rules kinda sewer..i always do my own thing and i find it always works best!

A dummy that you can adjust to your size, it has a bunch of dials on it - also called a dressmakers dummy. You still have to put a bra on them and pad them if you're over a B cup! All patterns, retail clothes AND dressforms are drafted at a B cup...it's a very annoying standard

They really do! I wish they'd hurry up and release it here...winter coats here I come! Also I was thinking of buying vintage buckles from ebay and using those in place of the ribbon, there's some gorgeous ones on there. There's also a review on patternreview.com for it and it says the fit is excellent

SO heres a question is is necessary to match lines of tweed material?....ive got the idea to make a pencil skirt. Are there any tips to making one?
haha yer those dress makers dummys are cool....except mine is still too big at its smallest adjustment and it scares me alot when i walk past my room thinking its someone standing in the corner

I've had my eye on that one too!! Its gorgeous...so much nice stuff coming up!! It should be out before Spring, we're a season behind the US but they generally bring out next season before it starts so the new book might actually come in after the Spotlight sale (hence them getting rid of all their current stock).
I'm also after this but not sure about the sleeves, I think I'd just leave them out. I the line drawing!
