Made in Italy? Not really. - Page 2
Question:
I think that's really deceptive and I'm very disappointed...

Answer:
It's disappointing to hear this, but nothing new.

Answer:
Expected, but disappointing still!

Answer:
Yep, I knew this. By law in Australia as long as something is done to the finished product you can put a 'Made in Australia' label on it. For example a bag made in China for example may have a zip or tag attached in Australia, enabling it to be labelled 'made in australia' - its the same in Italy. Italian wool in weaved there but usually made with Australian wool as its one of the best.. the same with leather for shoes. The leather is usually tanned in a country like India (from memory there are no Australian tanneries still) and then made in a place like China or India. Shoe makers LOVE aussie leather, Kangaroo skin is aparently one of the best leathers as you can skive it to a very thin layer and its still really strong.

Answer:
Abysmal... that is the word that describes it all...
I'm not really good at persuading people but I would strongly encourage someone to suggest this topic as a story for Today Tonight or even better, The Chaser's War on Everything.

Answer:
I'm not sure how accurate this is but I think you can only claim something is made in a certain country only if over a certain percentage of the item is actually made/assembled in that country.

Answer:
I'm shocked! What about LV - are they not made in france??

Answer:
hmm, so ladies..me thinks that when you go to hong kong or china and purchase that chloe dress or designer bag at the markets...it actually is the real thing.......just not with thr real price tag!
sucked in to the designers...if they want to make things dirt cheap they know that corrupt wrkers who get paid a pittence are going to make extras to sell on the black market!

Answer:
Disappointing but not that suprising.

I was particular about the word minority as I'm not yet sure about whether if the mjority are corrupt or the minority are.
