Shrinking jeans on purpose - Page 2
Question:
most cotton products (or quality cotton products) are pre-shrunk before actually making the garment. That's why cheaper clothes tend to shrink if it's a natural fibre - linen, cotton/denim
Get them altered coz if you use the dryer they may fade more, as with washing in hot water and also after your body heats the jeans up they will become baggy again

To keep the symbol its best to get them altered from the inside of your thighs.. that way you keep the stitching and seams on the outside looking good (sometimes if you bring in your jeans from the outer side of your thighs the colour of the denim doesnt blend in as good with the rest of your jeans and the pockets won't sit right on your bum)..
hope i've made sense!!

Okies time for a thread revival.
Have just been delivered my Tsubi Lean Beans bought from a fellow Vogette but are a little bit big.
After doing a search and reading so many random answers, does anyone have the CORRECT method for shrinking jeans? Preferrably a method you have tried out yourself and have not just read in other posts? I don't want to wreck these jeans as I love the style and are expensive to replace?
Hot water or cold water?
Air dry or use a dryer?
Will it shrink permanently or not?

Answer:
Well I put my jeans into a bucket last night and filled it up with hot water. I then boiled a jug and poured that in to make the water temp even hotter. I soaked the jeans for around 45 minutes and then put them in the washing machine. An hour later, I put them in the dryer on a warm setting. The jeans came out mostly dry and looked a bit shrunken. I decided to put them back into the dryer for a blast of hot air for around 10 minutes or so.
Tried them on and they were perfect Now hopefully, they won't stretch too much.
So that is my account on how to shrink jeans.

Answer:
Wash them in hot water and then in the dryer

Answer:
Nothing - buy a new pair of jeans.
My jeans have done the same and I tried everything and even were going to be in altered and taken in. Easier just purchasing another pair.
Let them go.....

Answer:
^And spend $290?!! I don't think so.

Answer:
It was going to cost me over $200 to resize my jeans. It was easier selling them on ebay and purchasing a new pair. Just and idea : )

Answer:
cost me $30 to get mine taken in

Answer:
i chuck mine in the dryer for a while. I had some older sass and bide jeans that had stretched HEAPS, and my bf threw them in the dryer for 2 HOURS(!!) with his stuff and they shrunk heaps and have fit pretty well since. meanwhile he keeps wondering why all his t-shirts are getting shorter and shorter
