Buxom girls clothing thread
Question:
So today I finally got round to getting a proper bra fitting at Myers ... it turns out I am a 10F and not the 12DD I thought I was! While it's depressing to know that I'm now in that league of people who are ridiculously hard to dress (small frame, big boobies) it's a relief to finally get well-fitting bras. Fayreform, you are my saviour.
The fitter said I was the third 10F she'd seen that day - which makes me realise I am not alone.
So calling all other well-endowed ladies: how do you dress to make the most of your assets but avoid looking tarty? Is it possible to follow fashion or are we forever doomed to the limited diet of wrap or empire line dress? What are the best and most comfortable bras out there? And the holy grail: is there a button up white shirt out there that caters to us?

Answer:
Hmm
Only white shirts I ever found that looked half decent were the cue ones with a hidden zip.. they rocked... fortunatley in their infinite wisdom they don't appear to sell them anymore..
12D or slighly more..

Answer:
I'm not a particularly buxom girl but I was in Cue today and they definitely still have shirts with hidden zippers - perfect for avoiding the dreaded gaping pulled-button effect.

Answer:
sorry to be pedantic, but is there a 'threat to buxom girls', or is this a thread for them?? hehe
I am a size 8 -10, but my boobs are quite big for my size and frame, which does make it hard sometimes finding nice shirts that do up properly.

Answer:
whoops - thanks sqoggle i've changed it now. *doh*

Answer:
I'm a F cup too.
Clothes that are unwearable if you have boobs:
- button up shirts, unfortunately - I used to sew tiny patches of velcro between the buttons but it just doesn't cut it anymore. I avoid them at all costs.
- anything with spaghetti straps/built in bras
- tops with high necks/cowl necks/turtlenecks
- unfortunately most dresses don't fit properly either- my top half can be 2 sizes bigger than my bottom half sometimes and most dresses are too tight across the chest and too loose around the waist/butt.
Things to look for if you have boobs:
- Tops in darker colours and bottoms in brighter colours to draw attention away from the area. I've got a lot of scoop neck knits and they are great - ditto V neck. Make sure they are not too fitted but not too loose-- too tight and it looks skanky, too loose and you get the dreaded tent no waist effect.
- jersey type fabric -- its the most flattering.
- I only wear Fayreform bras these days, but find them a bit expensive from Myer. I think Fayreform might be a subsidiary of Bendon because the Bendon outlet always has heaps of them for $15-$20- so I always buy from there.

I have troubles too as i have a size 6 waist and my bra size is 10DD (which is not gigantic but its a bit bigger than my waist)- so everything hangs loose around my waist

Answer:
^^ i hate that too. You want something to accentuate the waist, but never (or rarely) caters for the bigger bust!
Shirts that i like are the ones that have the hooks all the way up, no peek a boo happening in those.

Answer:
This thread made me feel a bit better about my demented disproportionate body! :P Good news though - I can tell you that you can buy the hottest shirts that fit our oversized hooters at Morrissey (can you believe it?!?!) - i have one in black. its a staple item so they keep it every season, it never disappears. I think its about 100 or 150 but worth it as it also has narrow shoulders and a tapered waist. Also you may need to wear any kind of button shirt with a minimiser bra. Bra shopping is useless in australia, compared to other countries where you can easily find up to JJJ cups and beyond and back sizes smaller than a 6! Bras n Things here is only JUST starting to make 8s. www.bellaforma.com.au is also awesome, heaps of bras in big cups small backs that are actually sexy and dont look like your nanna's knicker drawer. I find its really easy actually to "hide" my boobs - just play around with different bra cuts, its amazing how you can make DD, E or F cups look a good 3 sizes smaller. not kidding! its possible (i promise)

Answer:
In a recent mag they featured a website that sells shirts that are sized according to chest size. They are priced around the $240 mark tho!
If I could be bothered I would try to find the mag, but it's late and i'm tried... maybe someone else knows. otherwise I'll look it up tomorrow
