Formal 2007
Question:
Well for the stress ball of year 12, formal is a night we tend to really look forward to. I've created a new thread, so we can discuss anything formal related. Anyone liked to share what they are wearing or their plans? I’d love some inspiration, mine is coming up so soon and I’m still clueless. Answer: mine is in under a month i'm wearing a pale pink laura ashley dress. the material looks like chiffon. my shoes are from david jones and they are pale pink with diamante (sp?) flowers on the strap i probably spent $400 on the whole outfit whereabouts do you live and do you have a budget? Answer: i always get so excited and end up having a shoddy time..=( my formal is in nov..end of nov..so maybe ill change my mind..so ugh.. its all very hard to decide.. but i know i want killer heels and i want a creamy, light tannish coloured dress.. yr 10 i had one made black yr 11 i wore a DVF dress yr 12 i think ill get it made again..lol i think i want it to be different [as usual..] and also with lots of volume im drawing inspriration from http://nymag.com/search/fashion-sear...Armani%20Prive 12th pic every year ive gone WAY over budget..and i hope and want to be below $1000 all together this year *fingers crossed* Answer: if i were in yr 12 this year (as opposed to last haha) i would wear this Alice McCall dress Answer: mine is a couple of weeks! i have got a black and white dress from ultra suite Answer: Aww how exciting! My year 12 ball was in 2005, and had my dress made from a picture of an Alex Perry gown. I think i've posted it before, but oh well! click me! Sometimes I think it works out cheaper getting it made rather than buying! If you find a picture of something you absolutely love, most dress makers (well the good ones anyway) should be able to make a pretty good replica! Answer: Wow that's a really nice dress xashleigh! Alex Perry is divine... I want my wedding dress from him! XD Mine's close to the end of this month, I'll be wearing this Chloe dress that I got from eBay! I'm really gonna need double sided tape... I haven't got my shoes yet! -_- Answer: I really like this dress but it's located over 3 hours away from me. http://www.ultimafashion.com.au/content/view/56/13/ I'm hoping to get it custom made but I don't know how long it would take. For anyone who has had their dress custom made, how long did it take for you and how much detail did you have in it? This dress doesn't look too complicated but then again, I'm not a dress maker so I don't know! Answer: My formal's in two months, and I have no idea what I'm wearing. I tried things on at one store to get an idea of what suits me, and so right now I'm in a toss up: - strapless floor length dark colour dress to go with one of the many black clutches I already own and wearing ballet flats (I figure that if no ones going to see my shoes I may as well get to be comfortable) OR - classy, just above/on/below knee length with the Mollini Meg heels I got for my formal last year, again to go with a black clutch (I got the shoes in black), undecided on style otherwise In year 10 we had a "social" (i.e. ultra casual) which I only decided to go to two days before, so didn't really care or bother with much looking around and last year we had a fancy dress formal so I didn't have to look for a proper dress either, so I'm pretty lost with looking. I think I'm going to look around DJ's in the city, and around a few vintage stores. Answer: Originally Posted by paper-roses Wow that's a really nice dress xashleigh! Alex Perry is divine...
