Where in Melbourne for Party Dresses??
Question:
I am in Melbourne for the rest of this week, and I need a dressy party dress for my birthday party. I looked a lot in the city today, and struggled to find something special. I don't have a huge budget probably only a few hundred tops (tried on a lush Mat Cortes dress but was too much for my budget at around $800). Any suggestions of where to look??? Answer: Have you tried Gasp (there's one in Melb Central) at all? They have the ultimate party dresses but are albeit very in-your-face. Otherwise try Seduce upstairs! Answer: Don't go to Gasp. Horrible dresses + horrible service = horrible place. If you're able to, go to Bridge Rd in Richmond. There's a place called Green With Envy, that sell wonderful dresses. Oh look, I found their website. http://greenwithenvy.com.au/ Answer: Really, horrible service? I haven't actually bought anything there but for some reason those dresses just remind me of partying til the early hours. Answer: Gasp is a truly terrible store. worst sales assistants ever! i think i have had the worst experience with them though... Answer: Originally Posted by Calyopia Don't go to Gasp. Oh look, I found their website. http://greenwithenvy.com.au/ I second Green With Envy. They have HEAPS of dresses, from various designers. Answer: Green With Envy has gorgeous dresses! Otherwise, try Rosmin and Seduce (in Melbourne Central). You've also got Howey Lane (off Little Collins Street), Little Collins Street itself, QV and GPO, though all these places stock Australian designers which might cost quite a bit! I think Wayne Cooper always has some lovely party dresses which are not as expensive as the rest. As for Gasp, I have a dress from there which is quite lovely (you can check out their website at www.emanuella.com.au). I'm not sure if that is your style, but I haven't had a problem with the salesgirls so far (don't ask me why. There's an entire thread with accounts of nasty salesgirls!). If you're going to have a look at Green with Envy on Bridge Road, then pop into the GASP store there - the salesgirls there were probably the friendliest. Good luck! Answer: I second Rosemin-- they have beautiful little dresses, perfect for a special occasion, and you DEFINITELY won't see them anywhere else back home, Chon Girl! Enjoy your week in melb hun Answer: Thanks for suggesting Green With Envy.... it was a great store! Gasp wasn't really my style... but thanks anyway for the suggestions. Green With Envy had a great selection, and very helpful staff. There was some gorgeous stuff there. In the end I had it narrowed down to a Natasha Gan charcoal strapless dress from there, and a Kate Hurst dress from Fat. I went with the KH dress, but I still loved the other one. I thought I get more wear out of the KH one though, as it can be re-worked for a more casual style. It is the same as this one PIC But in black with small white dots, and it has a belt that comes with it in the same material. It also has hidden pockets in the side. I it!!!! Answer: Zahara on Elizabeth Street, close to the corner of Lonsdale. They stock heaps of dresses from a range of Aussie designers like Collette Dinnigan, Alice McCall, etc. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
