Question:
i bought the cutest yellow polka dot sundress from a shop in newtown yesterday for $8 Answer: I have found a lot of Simona, George Gross, Harry Who, Covers and Saba stuff in Brisbane. All reasonably new stock - wondering if there are a few people who work for these designers, and get rid of their over-crowded wardrobes every few months? Answer: A white clutch, real leather and hand crafted. It cost me $2 Answer: Originally Posted by Shenzhen gal I have found a lot of Simona, George Gross, Harry Who, Covers and Saba stuff in Brisbane. I love op shop shopping (I go at least once a week) and sometimes I find gems, sometimes not... I guess the latest item I have found is a pink sheer Wish cami for $3.50.... Brisbanites, which are your most :heart:ed op shops? Answer: There used to be a fantastic one at Sandgate, but it's not there anymore. Well, there is one, but I think it's different. Either that, or it got cr appy over the years. Answer: I was brought up op-shopping by my mother. I think for the first ten years of my life everything we wore was either handmade or second-hand. I feel you either have an eye for it, or you don't. Some days I will wake up and the energy in the air says to me "Go second-hand shopping today sloane" and guaranteed I will go that day and find something amazing. My favourite recent purchase was from everyone's favourite Saver's - Brunswick - I scored a short-sleeved safari-cut belted summer jacket in navy with small white polkadots - Yves Saint Laurent Made in France with spare buttons in labelled packet in pocket - for ten bucks. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face for days. And my clothes-collector aunt (used to work for magazines in London in the 80's) verified it as the real deal, then offered to buy it from me. No way auntie - I know when I've scored! Answer: Today I got a shift dress that has nude lining under cream lace. Was $20, but they were having a 50% off sale, so it ended up at just $10! Shame there was nothing else there though, would of loved some more reduced pieces. Then at another store I got an adorable yellow knit vest for $7. There was a really cute white dress with a tailored bodice, low-v back and full skirt for just $11. It was a bit big, but I'm tossing up about going back and getting it. Answer: a light blue givenchy clutch for $6 from st vinnies and a black chanel turtleneck for $5 from salvos... i'm an avid op-shopper...everytime i'm strapped for cash i go vintage shopping & i love it! Answer: My best ever op-shop buy is my vintage (70's?) wool coat - perfect condition. It's full length, soft grey-blue featuring cream stitching, double-breasted (kind of a military style) with a big collar, cuffs on the arms and short belt piece at the back. Nips in at the waist and softly flares out around the legs....fits me like a glove. Made in England, I think it cost me about $15... Answer: The best thing I have bought is a 60’s style summery black, red and white skirt for $14 at Irving Baby in Adelaide (a retro 2nd hand clothing store). I get compliments every time I wear it!
