I'm going to club for the first time tomorrow night (I'm 20, but I usually only go to bars and pubs ) and I'm not sure what to wear. I have a really cute cream Victorian-style short-sleeved blouse that I can wear with jeans, would that work? It's not really "sexy" though, it's more cute and innocent...

But Shallot is right - you can't go wrong with flats, jeans and a cami for your first few times, and then play around after you have seen what other people wear
flats are great for clubbing, but some clubs still won't allow them...so probs not a good idea until you know the club better

If you're worried about what the club dress code is like, look up some pics on inthemix.
But generally, girls don't have a problem. My flatmate and I quite often dress far far funkier/edgier than most girls do when clubbing, but as long as you're a bit done up, and smiling, you'll be fine. Wear nice shoes (but comfy ones), and stuff you're comfortable dancing in. And don't do polyester, you will regret it!

I just wear whatever i feel like that day. My sister and i have issues over what is and what is not dressy enough but i think as long as you look nice it doesn't matter.

This sat I'm going out and I'm wearing a black button down, frilly Victorian style short sleeve blouse and black skinny's, a belt and heels. I'm unbuttoning the top few buttons so I can sex it up a bit.

It so doesn't matter as much as everyone thinks. Everyone wears all different things.
I always say NEVER wear jeans unless it is below zero outside because you will get very hot dancing (plus it's often warm inside the venues).
For example, everyone at Dragonfly (Kings X) gets very dressed up and I've felt almost uncomfortable there by not wearing a dress, but the last two times I've been there is in shorts and keds (after Field Day) and shorts and flats!! Being comfortable is the most important thing.
So, dress, skirt, and shorts - whichever you are feeling like wearing on the night!!
