It's strange isn't it... what suburban pubs think about footwear! I was once in these pretty sandals from zomp (open toed) and the bouncer said I couldn't come in wearing my shoes. But I really didn't see the difference between my shoes and the shoes of the girl before me, who had on these horrible wedges on, that were also open toed?!! Pfft, some suburban pubs have a strange god complex I think!

I know what you mean about suburban pubs. My local one wont let you wear thongs/ or thongy looking shoes after 7pm.

Answer:
True, sweat beads on the brows is never a good look.

I told him they were $18 havianas and he told me I got ripped off. Then I said something insinuating he obviously didnt know what style was. The pub in question is definately not stylish at all. Will never be anything more than a $2 pluggers-wearing-watering-hole. =\

Answer:
When I was a kid a wasn't allowed to wear thongs, as they looked "cheap and nasty" and we "couldn't have you be seen in that type of thing". Due to this I now never wear thongs, they look awesome on other people, but I'm semi scarred for life. I find them terribly uncomfortable, and very unflattering on myself.
However my girlfriend who works at zomp, always wears their shoes like, interesting sandals/thongs (not havs though) out and always gets into places. So I can't imagine you'd really have that much of a problem. If a girl doesn't get in with them on, I'd begin to question if there was some other underlying reason and the thong line of reasoning was just merely an excuse

Answer:
thanks guys!!
