Derby Day Lawn Party - Page 6
Question:
Unless I go grey and black. Dammit why do I do this to myself. Now I need a black hat.. I had a few made last year and the year before but they are just not right. Perry Lover - I understand your pain. Anyone ever had a hat made by Donny Galella? I just came across his stuff... bit bright for me but I like some of his designs. Bit late for this season but perhaps for spring? Answer: Originally Posted by Teena Unless I go grey and black. Dammit why do I do this to myself. Now I need a black hat.. Bit late for this season but perhaps for spring? kerrie stanley makes my hats for the spring racing carnival they are always a standout, i am always too chicken for FOTF and feel at 33 i might be past it check ebay there is a georgous black headpiece on there Answer: Originally Posted by Perry Lover I usually enter FOTF each season but I can’t find anything I like this year. I have been everywhere! Basically I ended up with a Camilla and marc dress that’s black and really short and is defiantly not appropriate for FOTF so I am just going to go to the lawn party. Its a shame there is nothing around there is not even any nice shoes. I must admit I can’t go to the race without having a hat made so Neil grigg has made me one again but I can always wear it in another FOTF later on. I agree, I've gone shopping everyday for the past two weeks and have not found anything I like. Answer: Originally Posted by lis Here's a pic of the grand finalists from yesterday. They all look fantastic though. So... who's entering Fashions on the Field at Randwick next week? I think the girl that one really deserves to win - she looks so perfect for the races The 20's flapper outfit doesnt look very appropriate as the dress is too short. Answer: Hmmm...I prefer the runner-up's outfit personally. But perhaps the judges were looking for something more understated. Def. agree re. the flapper outfit. It's cute and all, but not appropriate racewear Answer: whats better to have done for races - ur hair or makeup? ( i can only afford to get one or the other done) Im not wearing a head piece just maybe a velvet headband with a silk skirt and blouse outfit. Answer: Katie I'm not much of a makeup person so I'd get my hair done I'm also hopeless curling my own hair! lol Answer: me too! altho im getting my hair coloured and cut the night before so i feel like its a waste getting it curled that morning on the races. Answer: i still havent found anything... and i now have to buy closed toe heels because i dont own any, and apparently it is fashion etiquette. urgh. i am going shopping on thursday and if i dont find anything will have to make something from scratch, like i did for the races last year. EFFORT! also, what are you thoughts on strapless dresses? apparently you're not "meant" to wear strapless dresses at Derby Day, but kate waterhouse did last year and i really liked her outfit. Answer: i like the idea of racing etiquette, but realistically its not going to happen: closed toe shoes, dresses below knees, covering shoulders, gloves and hats? its sydney, not bloody likely! hahaha i know the members section is pretty strict (no bec cartwright style -oxymoron??- shorts in there!) but for lawn party, its prob more to do with making it not so trashy. i've seen girls there falling out of their dresses - kind of dealable in a darkened nightclub, but not what i want to see in the harsh light of day Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
