Derby Day Lawn Party - Page 7
Question:
There are always these rules but someone always breaks them and looks fantastic doing so! Answer: Originally Posted by brownbunny i still havent found anything... and i now have to buy closed toe heels because i dont own any, and apparently it is fashion etiquette. urgh. also, what are you thoughts on strapless dresses? apparently you're not "meant" to wear strapless dresses at Derby Day, but kate waterhouse did last year and i really liked her outfit. I personally wouldn't wear a strapless dress unless I had a bolero or jacket to wear with it. And considering it will only be 21 degrees with showers, why would you want to? As for closed-toe heels, that's really only for FOTF, but again, if it's going to rain I think I'd want closed-toe shoes. Peeptoes are also fine though. Answer: I wouldnt worry too much about wearing peep toes or anything. I think peeps are appropriate for autumn! I would leave the strapless at home though. You need to consider the weather on the day and its not hot enough to justify strapless. Perhaps as lis said, a jacket would be ok worn on top. As to the FOTF rules. They try to scare everyone with the rules but I won FOTF in Autumn (Doncaster) and I was wearing a straw coctail hat (well the base was straw and it had feathers and flowers covering it) but still!!! Answer: Is the Lawn Party seperate from the David Jones Members area? Answer: Is that the David Jones VIP marquee you're talking about? Then I think it is. The prize lists are up on the AJC website. There's a big difference between the prizes for Classic Racewear on Saturday, and Best Dressed Lady on Wednesday. If I was still in Sydney on Wednesday, I'd hold off until then. http://www.ajc.com.au/carnivalandeve....aspx?DayID=35 Answer: I agree Lis - the prizes are heaps better on Wednesday! Answer: Originally Posted by lis Is that the David Jones VIP marquee you're talking about? Then I think it is. Would there be a reason for the price difference in tickets then? I noticed that the lawn party is $170, while Dj's member tickets are only $125? I only just found out that I am going today.. The Dj's tent has a black and white theme, and I don't own anything black and or white that would be appropriate! Answer: i haven't heard anything about the DJ's tent sounds fun though. so ive decided against a strapless, but im definitely wearing peeptoes. Answer: I might be thinking of something different then. I spoke to someone who said she has her name on the door for the DJs marquee, which makes me think that one is an invite-only, VIP thing. Can't imagine them having two different marquees though. Answer: ^^ I got mixed up actually! My friend has members guest tickets for the day. It's not part of a DJ's tent! Does anyone know what the members guest tickets are entitled to? Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
