Culling Clothes - Page 3
Question:
its hard the first time, but you just gotta do it
If you havent worn it for X months./years, its gotta go!
It can be hard but i can guarantee you that there is NOTHING that ive ever culled that ive ever wished i had back, and ive culled really nice things, brand new things etc, but if you just dont wear them then whats the point?
ive actually made quiet a bit on ebay from some that i thought were worthless because they were all old but people will buy anything!
and some things ive received more than i paid for because i guess they may become 'sought after' or 'rare' for some people
just do it it feels good!!

I just moved house and had a huge clean up. I know it's hard but it's probably good to go by the rule "if you haven't worn it last season you're not going to, so get rid of it". I had one pile for the Salvation Army and another pile for ebay which of course I haven't got around to listing yet but at least they are out of my wardrobe now.

When I moved to London I (very sadly) put away all my clothes, only taking one suitcase of things. It's really strange but I don't actually miss all of my stuff- I know exactly what I want my sis to send me and what I prob will never wear again now!
I also sold on eBay at home- sometimes I got more than RRP! It's funny, one time I put a S&B mini up, saying it was originally bought in a sale for $45 and that I'd worn it a lot and it sold for $90 haha crazy ebayers!

Do people buy chain store items? Seems like a lot of things don't sell on ebay or if they do only for such a small amount.

I have quite alot of things I'm trying to get rid of but not sure how, markets or ebay? Been selling on here as well, but its not that great.
Yes, they do! I just sold 32 chainstore items and I made over 1k So it is definately possible! The only downside is the ebay fees which worked out to be about $80.00 But better than nothing I suppose =]

Usually when I list things on ebay about 95% of my items will sell...

thats the great thing about 'designer' labels, you can usually get back what you paid for!
ive got alot of old, chain store items so its much harder to sell!
i feel quite guilty, cos alot of it has not been worn

wow!
nice work!
did you sell them collectively or individually?
i find it hard to attract buyers attention, seeing its chain store the possibility of them viewing seems much lower!

I have to admit, I love culling my wardrobe on eBay.. Some items I get amazing prices for, others I don't.. But I love how I can sell some peices which the funds for go towards new peices! I guess you could say my wardrobe has a high turnover, but it means I can spend a bit on "trend" items and sell them at the right time to still recouperate a decent amount back for it..
My friends at work think I'm a genuis at it and my bf think I should become a trader

I just culled my wardrobe for the first time in a couple of years! It was hard at first, but the more i got into it, the easier it was! I found myself letting go of some things that i was soooo emotionally attached too, but realistically, was never going to wear again. Most of it is going to the salvos, one or two items to ebay, and i'm planing to sew a few things to make them more stylish (jeans etc). now i just need to find the time for ebay and sewing!!!

cheekybum, I generally sell my áverage'chainstore items in a bulk lot with 1 item that will catch people's interest, so far it has always worked well. Ebay is a great fun way to sell items, sometimes you win & sometimes you loose a tad, but I always list my item at a starting price where it is what I am prepared to get for it. Good luck, there's a massive Ebay thread in the Shopping forum's if you need assistance. Happy Selling!
