Question:
You girls are inspiring me..... I can feel another culling session coming on!

Usually when I list things on ebay about 95% of my items will sell...
Thats great! I think I will try ebay after trying on here 1st.

Answer:
I keep everything. I even keep ripped, unwearable t-shirts with massive holes from when I was 13. I can't seem to part with them. lol

Answer:
Sort your clothes into three different piles:
1. Keep
2. Ebay/charity
3. Maybe
Store your 'Maybe' pile somewhere you won't see it, like maybe in a box or in your laundry room. If you can go for a week or even a month without touching the items in the 'Maybe' box, cull it. Otherwise, keep them.

Answer:
I am currently doing this - selling things on eBay and really great stuff to a reseller. The majority of what I have left is really not brilliant because I sold heaps for an O/S trip earlier int he year.
I seriously have:
-One pair of jeans
-3 Cardigans
-1 Jumper
-15 pairs shoes (still mostly heels I don't wear, but in perfect condition)
-NO BASICS (they were all looking scruffy so I just chucked them)
-10 Dresses
-2 Embellished Tops
I have a few lay bys going now with essentials for winter which I have written a really comprehensive list for. I was initially planning only to buy budget items but I am going to buy less and better quality from sales on US sites etc (like J.Crew and VS cashmere etc)
It has just been taking me too long to get dressed on a daily basis because I simply have too much useless "pretty" stuff and absolutely no practical items.

Answer:
Has anyone ever tried selling on markets? I have so much stuff that I want to get rid off, but most items are not really worthwhile putting up on ebay. It's too time consuming if you only get 5 bucks in the end or sometimes nothing. I checked fees for the Kirribilli markets, but they are quite high. Has anyone ever sold there or on other Sydney markets?

Answer:
Wow so many ideas, I currently have a bag be it somewhat small, but I have 2 more suitcases full of clothes under my bed to go through. I like the ebay idea. I guess because some of the things are so dated yet really new looking (I am an impulse buyer from way back ) I didn't think people would really buy them. I will definitely give it a try to fund some new things that I have been lemming. I have a massive list stuck next to me as I type lol.
I have some things that are sentimental that I am keeping and yes I still have those "I might wear it again" items that it is not time to let go of yet. So funny how attached we get to clothes.
Thanks for all the replies it has been helpful I just feel so weighed down and get sick of all this old **** that I keep lugging with me from place to place.

Answer:
The way I culled my wardrobe a few months ago was to ask myself: "Is this something I really love?" and then "Do I actually wear this?" I could only keep whatever I answered yes to for both questions, which was really harsh for me, but boy, did I feel so relieved afterwards! The thing is, there are so many things that I have kept because I think it looks gorgeous on the wooden hanger in my wardrobe, but if I never wear it, what's the point?
The other exercise I do is open my wardrobe and make sure I can see everything. If the piles are too high, or I've stashed too many things into one compartment, it's time to cull!

I did this a few months ago. Now I'm down to 2 CR seamless tanks!
You know, it's funny how we use the expression 'to wear something to death' because I obviously quite literally do! At least now I have the diligence to chuck them out when it gets to that stage!

Answer:
my wardrobe has 2 halves, one half is the functioning half, the half i wear, and the other half are the clothes destined to go to ebay, charity or whatever friend wants it. when i want something new i just chuck more stuff on the ebay side to make money.
