Culling Clothes - Page 6
Question:
About once a year, a girlfriend of mine (who's honest and whose opinion I value) comes to mine, and we do a 'lay down' of my whole wardrobe. She's more ruthless than i am, so my wardrobe ends up heaps lighter! I then do the same thing for her. I often end up selling my stuff to other friends... so what goes around gets worn around, I guess. Good luck with the cull! Answer: friends like that I think that im that friend to my mates but i want one for me that will be honest with me about my stuff... Answer: definitely consider culling anything you haven't worn in a year. The best way I find is to sort your clothes according to: Yes - flattering, can't-live-without, I love you! clothes No - don't fit or flatter you + oh lord what was I thinking? clothes - ebay ebay ebay! Maybe - alter or try with a different outfit/in a different way - reassess these later, if you don't wear it - chuck it! Store - store away for another season or for when the trend resurfaces (esp. shoes) And I agree! definitely utilize some of your ruthless (and stylish) friends- they may come up with a new way to wear something you've neglected in your closet. (By the way, I love your sig Eevee!) thay're called consignment stores, i'm not sure of any, i've only heard of them. look that term up and hopefully you'll be able to find a few. good luck! Answer: I need to do some culling but Im no good at it... Some things I havent worn for a year but I just cant part with them! Answer: Sigh...my dad's decided to renovate his apartment here in sydney where i also keep the rest of my clothes that i don't wear (i live out on my own) and now i have to move everything out I have so much stuff!! Plus my current wardrobe is already overflowing with clothes....arghh....and work has been sooooo busy that i havent been able to put stuff on vogue or on ebay! i feel like just opening my apartment up for a massive garage sale Answer: I was a horder but did a huge cleanout a while back, including shoes. I gave it all to Vinnies, except my fav jumper hat I couldn't part with, but it was too big for me after I lost some weight. So I gave it to a friend because I had to know it was going to a good home How weird is that I've just started selling on ebay. I mad a heap of impulse purchases last year when I dropped a few sizes and I think I got carried away because some was stuff I'd never wear or, I bought the same item in 3 different colours. So, I'm waiting to see how my first ebay sell goes. Then, from there, I'll make a decsion. I do have some clothes I'll only wear once or twice a year but they are evening wear. I wear a uniform to work so I don't have a need for the great masses of clothes I have...most unfortuntae, I'd love to be able to wear my own clothes each day to work.
