Dunno about Dotti's layby policy, but laybying basically means that you have an item you wish to purchase put on hold for you. A deposit and/or admin fee may be collected, which may or may not be forfeited should you decide later not to continue with the layby. You then make payments to the value of the outstanding amount over a fixed period of time by a certain due date. When you have made full payment, the item's yours. That's basically it.
