Question:
You know the look, right? I want to know which leggings length people think suits which length of dress/top.
Like, I have a grey top I bought from Jay Jays the other day and it ends just around my lower butt area at the back. Is it better to go for leggings that end just below the knee or longer, or the shorter style, seeing as the top itself is quite long? Do you match short and short or long and long, or do the opposite?

either one will work, you just have to try it on and see what it looks like on you. I personally prefer long ankle length leggings (you can pull them down under your heel as well) or just above the ankle leggings. not really a fan of shorter leggings

I don't like shorter leggings either, they remind me of bike shorts. Much prefer longer ones and I think the proportions work better, but in the end it's up to you

Yeah, today in the street I saw someone with bike short type leggings (just on/above the knee). Blegh.
I was more meaning the ones just below the knee. Like, about a short hand's length below the knee.
My thighs are really long and I sometimes find wearing 3/4 pants not very flattering cause they make my thighs look hugely long and then my calves look incredibly short so I find I look better in shorter pants, that end say just below the knee, because they leave more calf exposed, thus evening out the thigh length, but it's probably different with leggings.

i agree, i dont like short leggings they have to be full length. i remember when the whole legging thing started. girls wore the 3/4 leggins with demin minis or supre minis. bleh

I just brought some long leggings on the weekend, but I'm not sure what I should wear them with. I had a one teaspoon hoodie which is quiet long I was thinking I could wear it under that.
I also don't like the bike short type ones

I usually wear them just under the knee- It usually depends on the weather though. I buy footless leggings so I can wear them all the way down (on cooler days) and put them up on warmer ones It's up to you though! I don't think one looks 'worse' than the other though.

I prefer the ankle length ones but that may be because the only pair that's just past the knee I own are the lace types and sometimes it doesn't go with certain outfits. I find that I need really thick leggings to go under tunic tops because the tops are so short and the leggings get more transparent toward the thigh areas. I have a top that can be worn as a tunic or a long top but I'm feeling a bit insecure about its length so for now, it's only been worn with jeans. I wish I had the nerves for it!
