I am soon heading overseas for a holiday YAY!! and am planning to buy a Longines watch. I was thinking of getting it in Singapore but a freidn told me that it might be cheaper to get it here, then claim the GST back when i go overseas??
What do you think, would it be cheaper all up in singapore, malaysia or australia?

I'd say it would be cheaper in Malaysia and Singapore, Malaysia mostly due to the exchange rate, though I haven't actually looked at Longine watches in malaysia so I'm not 100% sure on that.
I can tell you though that when I was in Singapore I was looking at some Rolex watches and they were most certainly cheaper than Australian prices after you asked the watch retailers for their best prices. Considering the exchange rate as well, prices were around $1k cheaper over there than here. I'm pretty sure even factring in GST claim backs in Australia, singapore would still have been cheaper.
