Question:
Its getting cold, and i still want to wear skirts to work, just wondering what colour/type of stockings go best with what colour skirts!
my skirt is a honey/beige/brown colour.. if that makes sense!
sheer? semi sheer? opaque?
does it depend on the length of the skirt?
do you match with your shoes?
im such a novice to this whole corporate wear thing...

You can't really go wrong with sheer skin-coloured stockings, although they won't give you any extra warmth they will at least keep your legs looking nice! Just make sure you don't get super dark tan coloured ones if the rest of your skin is lily-white. I've always found that look rather odd. Otherwise you could go for opaque stockings (they'll give a bit of warmth) in black. For something a bit more interesting you could look at some of the patterned stockings. leona edminston does some gorgeous ones, but there's heaps of different ranges available (love kylie, voodoo...) They come in all sorts of colours; chocolate, morone, black, charcoal... I don't think you necessarily have to 'match' your stockings to your shoes, but you certainly want to make sure they don't clash. e.g. I wouldn't wear black shoes with chocolate stockings.

Some girls in my office wear opaque or dark black sheer stockings under their grey/beige skirts, and I think it looks really nice if you've got a black top/shirt on top to balance it out.
Otherwise I say stick to one shade darker than your skin tone in the neutral hosiery.

these may seem a little fancy...but if you have to work conservative clothes...well... and they all look freakishly opaque...they aint, they're sheers trust me

Why not try a micronet? The holes are teeeny and they just look like opaques from far away but if someone standing near or close you, they'd notice
