Hey Endless Summer, i usually don't set this with powder. You definitely don't *need* to..unlike covergirl aquasmooth or the almay i was mentioning, which if you don't set with powder, it feels a bit "slippery" if you know what i mean. Thing with me is that i usually apply moisturizer and then my foundation automatically (no waiting in between), so no matter what foundation i use, it looks slightly dewy...if i feel i got it a bit too dewy, i set with a tiny bit of powder. But the colorstay is great, its not a powdery finish where you look dry/cakey...its just a nice natural matte finish. I personally really don't think this needs setting with a powder...it definitely won't budge/slip off if you don't. Answer: Thanks Racergirl! It sounds really good, I'm definitey buying it on Monday now & i'll let everyone know how it goes. Answer: Do let us know how it goes! You do have to blend it pretty quickly cos it "sets". But i never have any problems..i just concentrate on one area of my face at a time. I can even go over it again if i want more coverage and it still looks good. Hope u like it! Answer: Revlon Colourstay natural in honey beige[u] coverage:medium-full price:$24.95 from Cosmetics Plus, about $30 else where... type of finish:matte recommended skin type:all skintypes n whether u like it?I it Answer: MAC Select Tint Coverage: Sheer Price: Around $50 Type of finish: Dewy Recommended skin type: All Whether you like it? Yes, it was my HG before discovering the next one.... this one is gorgeous, and I would definately repurchase! Diorskin Pure Light Coverage: Sheer, yet buildable to medium. Price: $74 retail, $49 on SNet Type of finish: Dewy, luminous Recommended skin type: Dry to very dry! Whether you like it? ABSOLOUTLY! It's not like most other luminising foundations - it truly looks like you're radiating from within. My new HG, I wear it every day! Stephane Marais Cream Foundation Coverage: Medium Price: Unsure, I bought for $50 from eBay Type of finish: natural, slightly luminising Recommended skin type: Dry to very dry Whether you like it? It's quite good, yet I find it takes a lot of rubbing in to get it to blend I guess I'm more used to sheer formulations. Face Of Australia Powder Perfect Coverage: Medium Price: $12.95 Type of finish: natural, slightly matte. Recommended skin types: Normal to slightly dry. Whether you like it? Awesome for a cheapie!!! I wear this one at night when my skin is being a little pre-menstrual Revlon Diffusing Tint Coverage: People say medium, but I think more sheer.... Price: $34.95 Type of finish: luminous Recommended skin type: Dry Whether you like it? YES! Lovely finish, feels featherlight on skin! Answer: NAME: MAC Studio Tech in NC43 COVERAGE: Light-Medium, but buildable PRICE: Cn't remember but around $55-$65? TYPE OF FINISH: Matte. RECOMMENDED SKIN TYPE: Normal-Dry LIKE IT? Not really that similar to my skin tone but great for photographs. NAME: Revlon Diffusing Tints in Honey COVERAGE: Medium-Heavy and buildable PRICE: $35 TYPE OF FINISH: Dewy. RECOMMENDED SKIN TYPE: Dry LIKE IT? Love it. Keeps my skin moisturised and covers imperfections well. NAME: Revlon Colorstay Natural in Honey Beige COVERAGE: pretty much Heavy PRICE: $30 TYPE OF FINISH: Matte. RECOMMENDED SKIN TYPE: Oily LIKE IT? Loved it when I had oily skin. Answer: NAME: Clinique Superbalanced COVERAGE: medium PRICE: $47 for 30ml (SN has most shades now) TYPE OF FINISH: Natural RECOMMENDED SKIN TYPE: Normal-Oily LIKE IT? Love it - I have problem skin and very dry cheeks. I put on DDM gel and then Superbalanced and it looks great SHADE: I use 04 Creamy Chamois. I'd been using 05 Vanilla for about 6 mths and 04 looks a bit better on yellow toned skin. I've also tried Chanel Teint Compact Creme Universel in #30, but I find it too cakey. Answer: Diorskin Pure Light Shade: 202 Coverage: Sheer but buildable to medium Price: $74 retail, $49 on SNet Type of finish: Dewy Recommended skin type: All, maybe? I have combo skin and it works well on me, but cf Trixibella's review. Whether you like it? Yes. It's sheer without being a waste of money. Makes me look radiant. Great colour match for my skin. Very light on, like you're not wearing any foundation. Chanel Vitalumiere Fluid Shade: 25 Petale Coverage: Sheer; buildable to heavy. Price: $82 (but approx $60 in Strawberrynet) Finish: Dewy, glowy Recommended Skintype: All, but some oily-skinned women may find this too dewy. Like it? Absolutely. Is HG foundation. Covers imperfections, brightens the skin and makes it glow. It feels quite light on the skin considering the coverage it can give. Economical as a little goes a long way. Definitely worth the price. Answer: Thought I'd bump this amazing thread!!! Here are my contributions: Diorskin Pure Light Shade: 200 Coverage: Light, but very buildable Price: I paid $74 from Myer Type of finish: On my skin its quite matt, but if I put it on straight after moisturiser, its quite dewy. Recommended skin type: My skin is combination-dry and it feels beautiful. I'd say all types would be OK. Whether you like it? Yes, I love it. I have no real skin problems that need hiding, so this a beautiful product, providing eveness to my skin tone without ever looking caked on. The only thing for me is that the shade is a touch too light so I need bronzing powder with it. Considering going to 202 when I repurchase, which I will. Covergirl Tinted Moisturiser Shade: Light - Medium Coverage: Very Sheer Price: $15 from Priceline. Finish: Dewy Recommended Skintype: Hard to say... Probably best for dry skin, but it may be OK for all skin types. I do notice that it looks a bit gross on my chin when I'm having an "oily" day though... Like it? It is unbelievable for the price. I've tried heaps of different TMs and this is the best for me, both in terms of coverage, wearability and colour. The shade is pretty much a perfect match for my skin! I wear it every day and it lasts the whole day (although admittedly gets a bit cakey towards the end of the day). It is *very* sheer coverage is probably the only bad thing I'd say about it, but I actually like that- some people may not though. NARS Gel Fraicheur Shade: St Moritz Coverage: Sheer Price: $80 from Mecca Finish: Matte Recommended Skintype: I imagine that this will suit all skin types as it is very lightweight and has a powdery finish Like it? When I first got it, I loved it. This is the one foundation that I've found I can put on, then pretty much run a marathon in, and it will still feel fresh and look good. What has made me go off it is that I was very tanned (solarium) when I bought this, and the colour now is horribly yellow and makes me look scary (makes me wonder whether it always made me look scary and I just didn't realise?). I've thought about repurchasing in a different shade, but I think that the Dior PureLight is similar enough, but overall a better product (and cheaper). Still, I'd recommend this, particularly for those with a good tan ------- OK, so I'm desperately lemming another foundation and after reading fungibles post, am thinking of trying Chanel Vitalumiere... any other recs? I really want to try LSF but would have to make a trip east for this... I have pink-toned skin so anything yellow-based is out unfortunately... Answer: Name: Bobbi Brown SPF15 Tinted Moisturiser in Medium Tint Coverage: Heavy, but can be easily toned down with regular moisturiser. Price: $65 for 50mL Type of finish: Creamy, looks quite natural Recommended skin type: Dry You like it? I like it because it's versatile, although the coverage is quite heavy if you don't blend properly. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
