sponge help!!!
Question:
I just bought Chanel Vitalumiere's cream Compact Foundation and the Poudre Universalle compact, and am having trouble with application! this is my first time using a cream compact and i'm currently just using the sponge that came with it... but after a few applications i noticed that the sponge is like all yicky and caked up...what do you girls normally do? do you wash the sponge regularly? or are there other ways of application?? and for the powder compact, it came with this really strange hard cotton puff thingy that is really quite ineffective at applyin the powder, any advice on that too?? Thanks heaps in advance!!! Answer: I dont use Chanel's cream compact but i have EL and SKII, i dont actually use the sponge given in there, i just go and buy a packet of those priceline sponges (i think its about $5 a packet of 20 or something). and then i use it once and throw it away If you intend to reuse the one in the compact, yes you will need to be diligent in washing, just like brushes, it traps bateria if you dont wash, i am too lazy to do that so i just buy disposable ones. Answer: i also use those bulk packed sponges. But if you can wash it if you want to, its quite hard to clean foundation out of sponges, but Shiseido makes a sponge cleanser (I saw then in asia, not sure if its avaliable here). or you can always use foundation brush to apply cream foundation, and take a travel brush with you to apply powder compact. Answer: thanks for the advice! will go pick up some of those sponges... so brush is better for powders i assume? o btw.. what's a foundation brush?? Answer: I would ditch the sponge and use a foundation brush. The sponge just sucks up and wastes so much product, is unhygienic and doesnt give a very nice finish. You will get better results with a foundation brush however the application will be lighter than using a sponge Answer: I had the MAC Studio Tech and Chanel Vitalumiere cream compacts, and used the sponge provided with both. But I washed it after every second use, and was quite pedantic with doing so. I second the idea of buying the disposable sponges - they're nowhere near as good quality as the sponges you get in the compacts, but they do the job and are a much more hygenic option. Answer: i agree with the foundation brushes. My sister used her MAC foundation up in less than a month with that sponge. It wastes so much foundation. A good quality foundation brush will use less foundation and save you money in the long run. Answer: where can i find a foundation brush?? does anyone have a pic of it? thankss! Answer: MAC have a really good one http://www.maccosmetics.com.au/templ...T_ID=PROD70779 A bit pricey but it'll last forever. There are cheapers ones, but anything really nasty isnt worth getting.. Answer: You can get some good, cheaper ones from QVS which is stocked at Target. Or you can try The Body Shop's one, which is lovely too. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
