Make up for people with fringe
Question:
I might have just made the biggest mistake of my life when I went for a chop and got myself a fringe. It makes me look kiddish. Doesn't seem to help when I have a prominent not well defined nose (think slightly bulbous towards the tip- am Asian) *cries* I was thinking perhaps some make up might help balance out the look. Asked a girlfriend if she felt that if a tan would be good. But it got shot down. Heavier eye make up? Gpt shot down as well since i have really tiny eyes. What do you voguettes think? What's your suggestion on how to work the fringe while I grow it out? Answer: What kind of fringe did you get? I sometimes wear a headband to keep my fringe of my face, and I use hairspray to keep it flat, so it doesn’t stick out... I hope that makes sense. I do think a tan would look great, especially if your hair is black or dark brown Answer: Originally Posted by MagickalGoddess What kind of fringe did you get? I do think a tan would look great, especially if your hair is black or dark brown I got the thick, blunt fringe. The overall length at the back is shorter than what I am used to as well- neck length. Answer: Sometimes hairdresser's go a bit overboard with cutting your fringe - I always reckon a killer fringe sits just on the eyebrows, so perhaps when it grows a little longer, you will like it. But in the meantime, try sweeping and 'forcing' it to the side... when you are drying it with a hair dryer and barrel brush, use heaps of hair spay and try and get it to just go off to the side if that makes sense, rahter than straight down... if the fringe has been cut too short, than brushing and styling it to the side can look cute. Also, with the make-up.... I have small eyes too - I;ve found what works best for bringing out the eyes is first coating the eyelids with foundation (of course!) and then, just really focusing on the outer part of your eyelid when applying eyeliner and eyeshadow - ie just apply the eyeliner from perhaps the middle of your eye!!!! ie just start the eyeliner from the middle of your eyelid. If you apply the eyeliner from your inner eye (ie close to your nose), it will make your eyes look even smaller. So, just apply eyeliner from half way out, if that makes sense! Then follow up in a similar fashion with your eyeshadow when you are going over the top. Answer: i had a really blunt fringe, but my eyes are huge, so i didn't have the same problem... however, for you, i would recommend that you really focus on blush. bring out the apples of your cheeks, and sweep a tiny lil bit on the tip of your nose (not Rudolph style! ) also accentuate your lips too, to help balance out the heaviness of your fringe. HTH Answer: If you think it gives you a little girl look work it - rosy cheks, a subtle pouty lip etc. Then give it a twist with black cats eye eyeliner or something similar. If you have small eyes don't line the lower lashline, and focus on the outer 3rd/half of the top lashline to make them look bigger Answer: Hmm, if your fringe is a teeny bit longer than eyebrow length, or you can wait till it is, maybe try sweeping it to each side a bit, (middle part)...there's this girl who catches my bus to work each day, and she's Asian and has hair that's been layered and is about neck length, with a long fringe that would be a blunt one if she wore it as a proper fringe (without sweeping each half of it to the side, you know?), but she doesn't, and she looks SO good. Her eyes aren't especially huge, but to me she looks fantastic...I actually spend some of the bus trip staring (subtly. LOL) at her hair, trying to work out if I could pull it off. (probably not is my usual answer. LOL) Answer: All of the suggestions sounds pretty good to me. Might have to give each look a go everyday of the week! Right now, I am quite willing to try just about everything Answer: what do your friends think? often when i think my haircut isn't great (almost always to do with my fringe), my friends will tell me they really like it (without any prompting, i promise!). i say go with the blunt fringe for a few days and see what comments you get! is your hair long enough to tie in a pony tail? a really sleek pony tail, full fringe and pouty lips would look really grown up to me! Answer: If you really don't like the fringe, then just either pin it back or pop a headband on for 2 weeks until it drops & grows out abit then you may be able to sweep it off to the side & in a further few weeks if you like the side fringe have it thinned out abit, if not just grow it out. it won't take too long!
