I have posted this before hidden in another thread but I am so impressed I thought it deserved it's own thread.
A make-up artist friend of mine goes to do trials for ball and wedding make-ups and usually she sees people maybe one month or more before the big event. If they have pimples and acne, this is what she recommends-
gentle cleanser
Garnier Peel Kit- comprising scrub and AHA gel peel
Benzac on the blemishes
this is done every two nights, on the second night-
gentle cleanser
Garnier or L'Oreal BHA gel
Benzac on the blemishes.
I trialled it on my two teens, aged 13(boy) and 16 (girl). Both their skins were getting bad and I was considering antibiotics from the GP. I can honestly say after 6 weeks that the results have been remarkable, my sons skin in nearly cleared up now. The daughter had very bad acne mainly on her forehead, the rest was mainly clear but we are now just down to just scars which will hopefully fade with the AHA/BHA.
My friend says she usually has remarkable results with clients on this too.
Just thought I'd share, the Peel Kit is about $17 at Big W,BHA should be about $12, the whole thing should last a while though.
Consistency is the key too.
Prior to this we had just been using cleanser and Benzac, so I think the addition of the Peel kit and BHA has been the key.

Thanks Cork, that sounds like a real, tried and true regime. Does she recommend this for people without acne per se? But maybe some congestion and blackheads?

The one we have is L'Oreal Pure Zone Anti-Imperfection Hydro-gel. It has salicylic acid (BHA) in it.
