Exclusively Dermalogica!? - Page 3
Question:
Oops - I forgot to answer the original posters question. Dermalogica is a fantastic brand. It turned my horrible skin (thanks to Clarins) into gorgeous luminous skin. It turned out to be cheaper than clarins too in the long run. It is great also because there are heaps of therapists that use this brand. My faves are Special Cleansing Gel, Pre Scrub, MV Revcovery Mask, Skin Refining Mask. I don't think much about their eye creams and even though I was told to use ACtive Moist I don't particularly like this moisturiser and opt for skin smoothing cream instead. All in all dermalogica is great BUT like others have said I think my skin has become used to it and I need to try something else. I've noticed also that my skin is starting to lose it's flawlessness and I need to have something more "active". Dermalogica is not active. It is perfect though for maintenance of "young" "good" skin. Answer: pinklemonade thanks so much for the advice...I have super dry, pale skin and was thinking of trying aha's on my beauticians advice- and i already can get sunburn through car windows! So thanks, i'm gonna give it a miss just in case. Hope your skin returns to perfect condition asap! Answer: Lady Penelope - I'm trialling Ahava which is carried by my beautician. She didn't push me to change but when I went in see her in desperation she gave me some sample for "dry skin" even though I have oily-combo skin and they have turned my skin around. I can never use "dry skin" formulations as they always break me out, but this is just perfect. It is a little heavy-feeling to wear all the time but to get me over this skin attack it's been really helpful. I think the Special Cleansing Gel and the exfoliants were dehydrating my skin leading to flakes and then I was getting severe rebound oiliness too. She's not the type to push people into buying the range she stocks so I had to really push to get her to even tell me what I should use. I've bought the Ahava Cream Cleanser (never thought I'd ever use a cream) and the Mud Exfoliator to start with and my skin is no longer flakey, it's plump and hydrated just not overly oily. I'm not sure what to buy next but I might re-introduce Active Moist and see if the good skin is maintained. I must also add that I've been using Mineral Makeup too as my regular foundation was showing up the flakes and the MMU didn't. I don't think I can go back to normal foundation as I think MMU has also contributed to my better skin. Answer: Sorry about the long and off topic post...will shut up now. I think my original point was that using Dermalogica exclusively was working for me but the results didn't last as long as I expected. Answer: I was using Dermalogica with Mario Badescu and Clinique last year. Then i decided MB and Clinique just werent as great for my skin, compared to Dermalogica. This year, I used Dermalogica exclusively for about 2 months and then incoporated LUSH into my skincare products because I found that the Dermalogica masks stopped working. However, I still find Dermalogica really works and their cleansers and exfoliants deliver great results for my skin! Answer: i just started using dermalogica this year ....(after doing their audit) .... and found out that the results are pretty good but i'm just hoping it'll last!!!! love the tint moisturiser!!!! Answer: im sampling some atm. i have to say i like the cleansers, but im not really a fan of much else. the exfoliators are average at best, active moist feels thick and oily desite being oil free, the blemish products are practically the same as buying the no frills chemist versions of benzoyl peroxide (for $16). the anti-bac masque is only really good if u hav severe (no hormonal ie. bacterial) breakouts. but yeh.. im likeing the dermal clay cleanser.. the eye creams just feel like silicone :-S like the EL idealist range Answer: the active moist is THICK and OILY?!?!?! wow..... i actually thought it was very nice and thin...... Answer: I use Dermalogica exclusively...My bathroom cabinet looks like a beauticians shelf full of the stuff! My twice daily regime is: Dermal Clay Cleanser Multi Active Toner Oil Control Lotion And then I use the Gentle Cream Cleanser and Skin Prep Scrub once a week each, usually 3 days apart so as not to be too harsh on my skin. Works perfectly for me. My skin is smooth and it keeps the nasty blackheads and pimples at bay. I'm back on it after a few months of being a tightass and using cheaper products - but every day I was depressed about my skin so the only solution was to go back to Dermalogica. BTW my skin is moderately oily with open pores. Until I started using Dermalogica I thought my skin was acne prone but instead I just wasnt using the right treatments. Answer: I've just recently gone back to using Dermalogica's Active Moist, and found my skin's improved. I don't use Dermalogica exclusively though.
