BEST epilator (Merged) - Page 2
Question:
Emjoi Gently Gold without a doubt my mum and I have used them for years and love them. I use mine weekly on legs, and underarms with no dramas and doesn't take that long. If ever I shave which is once in a blue moon in an emergency I find the next time I use it you can feel it a bit more this is because the hair is thicker from shaving. The trick to using the epilators is to use it frequently that way the hairs are shorter say 5mls long and very sparse. I hate my legs after shaving you can feel the regrowth the next day whereas with Emjoi you can't really feel the regrowth because the hair is finer and sparse.

Answer:
Emjoi Optima - my first ever, love it! Been using it for about a month, and already the hairs are way finer, lighter, and slower to grow. I use it everywhere and don't get any ingrowns (other than bikini if I don't look after it properly).
Haven't quite got up the nerve to throw out my razor and shaving cream though, I do miss that extreme smoothness that only shaving can give , but there are so many other benefits to not shaving

Answer:
I had emjoy and it was ok. Just painful!!!!! I want something less noisy!

Answer:
i have an old Braun Silk Epil, the white and green one. I find it works great but it hurts when i use it on my legs, so i use it on my underarms only. It has served me well the last 6 years
My sister bought the new silk epil, the purple-greyish one with the rotating massage thingys. It works well too but i found that although the massage thing reduced the pain a bit, it actually got in the way and you have to go over the area more than usual to get all the hair out

Answer:
Thanks for posting this - I am thinking of getting an epilator after Christmas Still not sure which to go for though!!

Answer:
Get the 3370 braun the one that Heidi advertises, it rocks, im getting used to it now, even though at time you get the odd few hairs that kills when you pull em out, ! all good though, one of my best buys,! well done braun!

Answer:
I agree, just bought this epilator and it's wonderful. I was worried it would be really painful but it's less painful than waxing in my opinion and I don't even find waxing painful!! It's definately my best buy of the year, Shaver Shop $70. So happy with it, couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Answer:
hehehe how strange I came past this topic tonight I got the Emjoi Gently and at first it KILLS! but after a while it's not to bad... I went a little nuts and did my legs, arms and bikini line.... tomorrow I'll do underarm and maybe what little hair I have on my belly just because I can.... only problem is it takes AGES!

Answer:
I have a very very old braun silkepi;l ( a yellow and white one)... I find that it always misses some hairs (fine ones) do any of the newer ones do a better job of getting those out. Also mine sounds like a small tractor. Are any others less noisy?

Answer:
I was silly/bored enough to do my upper lip last night with my optima just because I used to have an epilator specially designed for that area, I thought.... why not try my current one out?
And now I have pink splotches and one area where it's weeping and feels like an acid burn
