The unders hurt a bit more more than everywhere else, but it's saved me money over and over now. The pain also reduces of course. Years ago I had a braun one for the face and bikini, it had a tiny head a little bigger than a toothbrush head. I don't know if you can still get them or not! Answer: i use my epilator (braun) on my upper lip and its okay... hurts abit but its only pulling the hairs so doesnt cause me burns (unlike bleaches or depilatories).... just pull the area as tight as possible and only go over it a few times.. not too much.... Haven't quite got up the nerve to throw out my razor and shaving cream though, I do miss that extreme smoothness that only shaving can give , but there are so many other benefits to not shaving I found that the key to getting smooth skin after epilating is to shave the area. Like, epilate as normal, but then shave over it afterwards to remove those tiny baby hairs that the epilator never gets. It makes your legs, bikini line, etc. feel even smoother than when you just shave! And it doesn't make hair grown back stubbly either, like shaving your entire leg does, because you're just shaving off those tiny hairs. It's the only way I've been able to keep epilating for all these years. My mum, who has shaved all her life, noticed my legs the other day, and wanted to know my secret for smoothness. Answer: So far as the decision about which brand to get....I ended up making my decision on the practicalities rather than the Heidi Klum endorsement so got the Emjoy. When I got to the store I found that the newer breed emjoy (gold, gentle caress, whatever) has a wider band of tweezer thingys and the tweezer bits are slightly longer. The sales guy told me this gets longer hairs and I figure that the fact that there were more of them would get more in one go. Depends how hairy you are I guess Answer: Originally Posted by Le Tigre So far as the decision about which brand to get....I ended up making my decision on the practicalities rather than the Heidi Klum endorsement so got the Emjoy. Depends how hairy you are I guess But the longer the hair - the more pain? I wouldn't trust anything a guy says on hair removal! LOL Answer: the underarms don't hurt at all anymore i think it's very convenient. it takes 5 mins as opposed to having to drive to a salon, wait, have it done, come back home, book an appointment legs i am not sure about, i can still see black dots that i always thought was beause shaving doesnt tak eout the roots Answer: How much is the emjoi? Is it as expensive as the braun silk epil? I'm thinking of trying epilating..............but with all this talk about pain....starting to lose my nerve! I'm a big wuss when it comes to pain and I've got gorilla legs so I've got a lot of hair to remove. Can you sell them on ebay if you use it a few times and don't like it? Er that's sell the epilator, not the hairy legs. Or is there rules about hygiene like bathers with this things? Answer: I got a Braun Silk Epil about a month ago from the Shaver Shop which was substantially cheaper than Myer and DJs. I used it once as soon as I got it and I have subsequently used it once again for touch ups. It is excellent and I highly recommend this to anyone. It has a pain softener attachment but I don't think it is required as once you start epilation on the legs, you get used to the pain sensation and it is quite tolerable. Initially it does hurt but beauty is pain to some degree. Answer: Any recs? I've decided its time to start epilating. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
