Please help a bride to be.....
Question:
Hello everyone, I've never been a girly girl, I don't know the first thing about beauty. My dilema is I'm getting married this year, (just under 5 months away), I want to look good but I have no idea where to start. Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!! Answer: What's your skin type? Are you now using any skincare? Answer: What concerns do you have with your skin? Blemishes/dullness/etc? Answer: I have combination skin.... I don't have a skincare routine at all Answer: Originally Posted by She What concerns do you have with your skin? Blemishes/dullness/etc? Blemishes, dullness and blackheads... I have just been keeping it simple - a basic cleanser, toner and moisturiser like from Dove (I've been using one that I got at a promotional launch from a company sort of like Amway) and then some Eryacne from my doctor on spots. It's working so far - fingers crossed! Answer: Originally Posted by ksm Blemishes, dullness and blackheads... I have a milia under my eye. God I sound disgusting! milia should only be extracted by a beauty therapist. I recommend going for extraction facials once a month and by then your skin should look much better. Extraction (when done properly by an experienced beauticean) can remove blackheads/whiteheads that cause blemishes. And at home, I recommend very basic routine - cleanser, moisturiser twice a day and exfoliate twice a week. Depends on your budget - You can go priceline brands which are around 7-30 marks or department store/salon brands around 30-a few hundreds. Which brand works for your is completely trial and error - it's different for everyone. Myself had no luck with cheaper brands and now I'm using Dermalogica and very happy with it. Most importantly - drink heaps and heaps of water and balanced diet are the key to radiant skin!! I will have a look around for a place that does facials and book one a month until the wedding. If anyone know's of anyone good in Sydney, Hills to Chatswood area, please pm me I might try something middle of the range because the cheaper ones never worked for me before hence why I don't have a routine at the moment. I tend to wear make up in the day and moisturiser makes it look weird... and my skin looks oily after a few hours. Water and diet will definately need to be changed. I really appreciate your help. Thanks Answer: You could have a facial at a beauty salon and ask what products you should use on your skin. Obviously, the products recommended will be ones they sell, but if you're a complete novice, it might be the best place to start. I'm also prone to blemishes and dull skin. My routine is to cleanse with Clearasil and moisturise with Oil of Olay moisturiser. Every three days, I exfoliate with a mixture of bi-carb and Cetaphil cleanser (made into a runny paste). It's made a big improvement to my skin. Biore Pore Strips (for the nose) have never worked for me, but others on here have said it has helped them get blackheads out.
