Another congestion/microdermabrasion question
Question:
I used to have a bit of congestion on my chin, and really wanted to clear it up. So I booked in for a course of 6 microdermabrasion sessions, I've had 5 already, and my skin has never looked worse The congestion has increased more than 100%, I have soooo many blackheads on my chin and nose, and even whiteheads on my cheeks and forehead Why is this happening? My skin was nearly perfect before, and now it's just a mess. I'm regretting the micro so much, now I don't know what skincare to use - the BT is getting me to use MD Formulations, which I dont really like. Please help - I'm desperate Answer: Wow...sounds very severe...have you asked the bt why its happening? Maybe you have very sensitive skin that is having a bad reaction to the treatments....you should try Dermalogica as they treat a lot of post treatment problems...check out their website for more product info... good luck.. Answer: mD is, IMHO considerably better than dermalogica. hands down. microD shouldnt be used over breakouts (it can spread bacteria), and is really only suitable for blackheads, dullness, anti-ageing, scarring etc etc - not breakouts i had it done last week and it didnt do anything much for me. bummer - was a waste of $115!!! Answer: This is just a guess but it's possible the micro is bringing everything to the surface. But considering you have had 5 I would think by now it would have cleared up. I would stop using the MD products maybe you are allergic to them and go back to what you were using before. Answer: I used to use Ella Bache for a few years, then switched to Cetaphil and Dermalogica Active Moist (and a few products in between). The MD Formulations is apparently better than Dermalogica, but my skin has never looked worse. I don't know if it's the products or the microdermabrasion, but I feel like I've wasted close to $1000 Yeah I would think that after 5 treatments, everything would have already come up to the surface ans cleared up, but my skin has totally changed texture, it's a lot oilier and this morning I noticed my chin is flaking Answer: ^Your skin may be reacting to it though. Specially if you are using anything with glycolic acid etc. My skin will break out in a rash which isn't the noticable my skin just looks really uneven that then turns into white heads from some products. I would go back to a basic routine for awhile. Answer: I have one more micro session, then I'm getting off MD Formulations, going back to Cetaphil and a simple moisturiser. So upset. I think the micro has totally dehydrated my skin, and it's gone crazy, maybe that's why I have so many blackheads and extra oiliness..? Answer: i had microdermabrasion treatments for liike 3 mths non stop every week and it did absolutely nthg for my skin. i noticed taht my skin was smoother and brighter tho but the scars were not gone. i still had breakouts as well so i stpoped doing it. its so upsetting, i dont even want to add up how much i spent on the treatement as id prob go and kill myself when i find out how much it all adds up to! Answer: Exactly. I spent close to $600 on the micro, and who knows how much for the products MD Formulations is SO expensive, everything is around the $100 mark at least Answer: i tried the Dr Brandt microdermabrasion in a jar at hoem tho. and i thuoght even thats worth it than the salon treatments. i felt that this product worked well to get rid of acne and the pitted scars, but not so much the red scars im currently using the philosophy microdelivery peel now...
