Mario Badescu Reaction - refunds at Kit?
Question:
Yesterday I went into Kit's Myer Sydney City counter and had a lovely sales assistant recommend me some products for my fiance. She gave me some samples as he has sensitive skin, and then I picked up some of the silver powder and seaweed cleansing lotion for myself after hearing it raved about on here. Unfortunately, I used both products this morning as per her instructions, and my usually normal (aside a small amount of congestion and blackheads around my nose and chin) skin has broken out in an itchy red rash where I used the products. I look like Rudolph the-red-nosed-freaking Reindeer. My skin never reacts to skincare products like this so I'm a bit, well, actually, a lot hesitant about using it again. Has anyone else had a similar reaction and continued to use the products successfully? If not, is there any way I can return them even though they're used - will they refund me? Maybe I should have asked for samples, but the SA had already been so generous with the man-products and I didn't want to seem like one of those sample-leeches - plus, as I said, my skin hasn't ever reacted to this extent to anything I've tried before. I can't get back into the store before next week, so I can't even come in and show them what happened (not that I'm sure I'd want to brave the cosmetics floor at Myer looking like I've been sandpapered in the face). I feel crappy because she was so nice and from what I've read on here I really wanted these products to work for me! Answer: This happened to me with one of their cleansers but after a week. I exchanged it for another cleanser and the girl who exchanged it couldnt work out why the other SA advised me to use the one I bought back. She said no wonder i broke out, it wasnt for my skin type. Maybe the SA just recommended the wrong stuff?? Anyways i know they exchange, not sure about refunding. Just go in and ask. Im using the MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel, its ok but not HG for me. Answer: Hijack, how much are the cleansers? I'm interested to get their glycolic cleanser/enzyme cleanser, but not sure of the price. Answer: Glasshutch, call the counter and ask for Fotini. She's a trained beauty therapist, so she'll be able to help you out. Are you allergic to titanium dioxide? That's the predominant ingredient in silver powder and a few people are sensitive to it. Seaweed Cleansing Lotion is generally free of known irritants, although sometimes the aloe vera in it can upset some skin types. Answer: This may be a bit out there, but how hard did you have to rub to get the silver powder off? Is there any chance that you irritated your skin through rubbing? Its a long shot, but I know I over rubbed the first time and caused a rash.... Answer: yep i started to break out after i used one of the moisturisers - i think it was too heavy for my skin, took it back after using it a few times with receipt and they returned it no probs... i know how you feel about returning them after they have provided excellent consultation, but i really they provided such a hassle free return Recently i have switched to another branded kit moisturiser (korres??) and it is AWESOME i use it together with the enzymer cleanser and seaweed cleanser (which is really a toner) and my skin is really cleared up!!! The gals even suggested if my skin is looking particular un-radiant after a night out etc have the moisturiser in the fridge and after you apply it, it should really perk up the skin... never thought of putting moisturisers in the fridge but daphn3 both the toner and cleanser i am using are $38. I don't know if I'm allergic to titanium dioxide: I've never used anything like the silver powder before so it's a possibility I guess. It started to itch probably a minute after I put it on, and the SA told me that water wouldn't remove it so I used the seaweed cleanser - which dissolved it almost immediately (so no, I didn't scrub too hard) but seemed to make the itch worse. I ended up taking an antihistamine last night which has helped with the itching, although my nose, chin and a spot between my eyebrows are still quite dry and sporting a fetching shade of ruby. Ive just discovered My Skincare Store on Ebay and they are less than half price on there and my package arrived in 4 days from the US Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
