I had very blonde highlights all through my hair ages ago - I'm naturally quite dark but when I had my mullet I had a lot of blonde put in, and didn't really stop..it's only over the past year or so I've been going with more caramel highlights
I'm not sure where you can buy Alfaparf from, I buy it from my old hairdresser but she's a home salon. Maybe ring a stockist? Or try Price Attack? Hairhouse Warehouse sells some Alfaparf but not the silver shampoo.

Answer:
I've tried heaps of blonde toners that are purple but they always make my lightened blonde hair purpley or at the very least a sort of violet hue no matter how long I leave it in. Why??????? Are there any that will get rid of brassiness but not turn me into an old lady with purple hair???

Answer:

is your hair quite damaged? i think i recall reading that damaged hair is more porous and the purple clings to it. sounds like you would be better off going to the HD to get it toned.

Answer:
Princessrose have you tried Fudge Paintbox's 'Lighter Shade Of Pale' I love this stuff leaves hair all silky & bumps off a lot of the unwanted brassy gold tones it's fool proof no mixing.
I had actually forgot all about this until i was cleaning out my drawers & found just enough to do my hair -as the beigey colour I changed to was a mistake & a half never again !

Whiter Shade of Pale
150ml/5.07floz // toner for pre-lightened hair
What it does
- Neutralises yellow tones in pre-lightened hair - Quick and easy application with no structural damage - Assists combability during application - Improves hair quality, soothes scalp and adds dramatic shine - Adheres to the cuticle layer for longer lasting results on pre-lightened hair
How to use
1. Wash hair with your favourite Fudge shampoo, then towel dry 2. Squeeze Whiter Shade of Pale into plastic bowel or glass dish 3. Unsing a tint brush, apply evenly to the hair 4. Comb through the hair using a wide tooth comb 5. Processing will take between 15 - 30 minutes 6. Answer:
Hi VFP, can we please have a sticky for non-blondes (ie brunettes) for recs on products to lock colour in and keep it shiny and non-fading?

Answer:
*sigh*
so i decided to do a home job - and bleach my hair from red to (hopefully) a white blonde... typically though, it ended up yellowish.
i've put a couple of toners through it, and nothing has worked. my hair isn't even to my shoudlers, so it isn't as though it's long.
i should've gone to a hairdresser... i know. idiot.
i look kinda stupid... and need to have fixed it by work on friday.
i don't want to have to redye it dark, as i love blonde hair! any recs?

Answer:
^^Chic Venom, you would probably have to bleach your hair again to lift the yellow out of it...once you hair has reached pale yellow (like the inside of a bananna peel) then you can put toner on top and your hair will go a white blonde....don't leave the toner on for too long though or you'll go purple.

Answer:
Agreed with Perfume XXX, Chic Venom, you have to bleach it again. If the hair isn't lightened enough it will look yellow, and if you put too much toner on this kind of colour it just looks this awful dull colour (It's happened to me). You probably won't have to leave the bleach on for long, once it's reached yellow 10 mins extra should take it to blonde.
