Frizzy hair & split ends - Page 2
Question:
I have very fine, basically "straight" hair but it is prone to firzziness and looks wiry - so it looks absolutely horrible without any product. My bathroom is full of products that I have bought in my failed attempts to control my hair over many years. I have found the following work for me: 1. straightener - this is a MUST 2. Elvive range of shampoo and conditioner 3. Matthew James - Deep Moisture Treatment I also use either Cristalli Fluid or Paul Mitchell Seal and Shine before I straighten but there are possible better ones out there. Still looking for a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER for the ends that I can use that doesn't make it crunchy and stiff. The straightener has been my very best investement. The ELVIVE range has been my best discovery - I can ALMOST get away without straightening. If I had found this shampoo before getting the straightener I would have been very happy as it somehow tames my hair. Using the straightener as well makes it so much better though. I hope this makes sense - and sorry for the long post Answer: Originally Posted by smachel3 I have very fine, basically "straight" hair but it is prone to firzziness and looks wiry - so it looks absolutely horrible without any product. Thanks - any particular one?? Answer: I have long frizzy hair, its practically straight now the layers are growing out but i find I still need to straighten it to give it like a healthy, glossy finish..though I am on the hunt for products to make it like this naturally so I don't have to striaghten it..whenever I do it always goes more frizzy after the next wash. My straighteners aren't GHD's though they are Remington ones. It always feels sort of fragile, parched and wiry I hate feeling it! So heres a list of the products I am thinking about, hopefully it helps some of you out or let me know if you've tried them! PhytoDefrisant Baume (frizzy hair) Phyto PhytoLisse Serum (frizzy hair) phyto do all sorts of strenghtening products and a 'nectar' for dry and lifeless hair so im looking into that. In general I've heard a lot of raves. The anti-frizz products, i read on the packet sort of relax the hair and make it behave as well nourishing it! I've tried a few products by MOP (modern organic products) and they were really impressive. I used a 'greens' conditioner which felt sooo nice, when i applied as well as AFTER. I hate conditioners that feel nice in the shower but leave your hair dry and limp when it dries!!! I've also heard of Aesop and Ojon products for hair.....I'm looking into more natural ones without stripping ingredients. Answer: My hair is sort of naturally straight, but after I wash it, it goes totally frizzy and curly. Now it would be great if I could just put some non-frizz curls treatment in but after like 10 minutes the curls are gone and i'm stuck with major boof frizz hair. Like everyone else i'v tried everything! i straighten my hair everyday, because of that I have a ban on hairdrying. I'v finally found a solution to mi frizziness. First I shampoo my hair once with this ceramic silk formula my hd gave me - its like $12 a bottle so its not too bad. Then I shampoo again with Swartskopft non-frizz Osis turn on. I use storebought conditioner - it is amazing how it works! it's garnier sleek and shine conditioner, i know it probably coats your hair with silicon but i dont care cause it works so well! While its still wet i put in Garnier Sleek and Shine leave in treatment, however it's not totally necessary. Then wait for it to dry and bam no frizz, however kinda boof, so I straightnen it. It looks healthy, feels healthy, and theres no frizz. Thanx for the tip on the ELVIVE range I'll check it out next time. Oh playinwitfire I now that feeling very well I have never tried the products you have mentioned - I wish you luck. But do try the Matthew James and Elvive as well. You can get a small sachet of the MJ Deep Moisture Treatment from Priceline (for around $3) and the Elvive is pretty cheap too. Just be careful that you get the Matthew James DEEP MOISTURE and not the PROTEIN treatment - protein generally makes fine hair feel like straw! EDIT : I have just realised you are in the UK. I don't think Matthew James is available there!!!!!! Answer: Originally Posted by cleo_wannabe My hair is sort of naturally straight, but after I wash it, it goes totally frizzy and curly..... While its still wet i put in Garnier Sleek and Shine leave in treatment, I have heard good things about Garnier - glad it works for you cleo_wannabe!!! There seem to be quite a few of us cursed with so called "straight" hair that does not behave that way, but I am feeling in cotrol of mine at the moment with those products I have mentioned above Answer: i've been using charles worthington serum/pps serum and they are both silicone based hair tamers. the trick is to use it on wet hair. and my hair is pretty bad. i was called 'scraggly hair' when i was in high school Answer: Can anyone recommend a really good serum or straighting lotion to put on your hair when you are using straightners? I often blowdry my hair then straighten it but I still find that after even a few minutes my hair is starting to go from nice and smooth to frizzy again. I think it's the heat from the hairdryer cos I find if I leave my hair to dry naturally then straighten it, it stays nice and smooth. I often don't have time to let it dry naturally tho. Any recommendations or hints?? Answer: Originally Posted by playinwitfire It always feels sort of fragile, parched and wiry I hate feeling it! This is my hair all the time! It's so depressing as I just don't know why its like this anymore. Its only been like this just over a year and during this period of time I've constantly tried to nurse it back to health using a variety of top products. I havne't had it permantly dyed since last Jan and I only ever put semi permanents in my hair. I straighten it about once a week but always use lots of treatments, heat protectant etc. Get it trimmed regularly, hardly use many styling products and STILL its always dry, wiry, parched and fragile looking and feeling. Despite everything I STILL have a million breaking bits at the end of my hair. I always find lots of tiny broken bits in the bathroom after I've done my hair. I hate it....I think it will never ever get better Are some hair types more prone to this state of health despite being looked after really well? My hair is thinnish and wavy...it just seems to break VERY easily..however I don't have many split ends.. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
