Caucasian hair that goes frizzy in the tropics: thermal rebonding?
Question:
I have mid-length generally straight hair (not thick) but with a bit of a wave in it when I leave it to dry naturally (not a pretty wave though - it's more like ugly kinks and a bit of frizz). When I go to the tropics the humidity just makes it frizz and kink, even if I try to straighten it each day. I've noticed in Asia that most Asian girls have beautifully straight hair that is not affected by the humidity. How do you girls in the tropics with Caucasian hair deal with the humidity? Do you think that thermal rebonding/reconditioning (Japanese straightening) will help? Not sure if it would be worth the money. I'm hoping to spend the next year in the tropics, and I don't want to get braids or dreadlocks or have to pin my hair back everyday! Answer: sounds like we have similar hair, if your spending a year up here, then your hair will probably get used to it- i dont have to much problem with straightening and frizzz, i use redken , it's works okay. I dont think it will be worth the money to get thermal done. apologies if my post makes no sense in these wee hours. Answer: Thanks, your post makes sense. Usually when I arrive in the tropics by plane with already straightened hair, it will stay looking good until I either wash it or let it get sweaty. So maybe if I just take a good hair straightener and some products, and hope that I have an airconditioned area to straighten it before I go outside, it might be ok. Thanks.
