Washing hair - Page 2
Question:
You watched Big Brother Up Late last night didn't you

Answer:
I shampoo roots and ends x 2. Just condition ends.
My niece is a hairdresser and stipulated that if washing hair once a day then only necessary to shampoo once - otherwise if washing hair every second day or longer it is necessary to wash, rinse, repeat in order to effectively rid of product build up.
First shampoo removes product build up, second shampoo gets in for deeper clean.

Answer:
I've been trialling conditioning my ends first, then shampooing the roots, then conditioning then ends again. I'm growing my hair so I want to prevent split ends. For reference this was inspired by reading threads on this site http://www.longhaircommunity.com

Answer:
Well it depends on the condition of your hair really.
If you use minimal to no styling products, then your hair would be dirtier and oiler at the roots than at the ends. You'd shampoo at the roots and the process of rinsing out the shampoo would distribute it through the ends and should provide sufficient cleansing for the length of the hair. Obviously, if you have short hair and/or use heavier styling products, you'd shampoo your entire head.
Conditioner is usually applied to the ends simply because the ends have been through the most of styling and processing and are hence usually the most damaged, as compared to the new hair growth at the roots. You may also have an oily scalp or roots and wish to keep conditioner away from the area. If these concerns don't apply then you can of course apply conditioner all over.

Answer:
I shampoo the roots first and then the ends with the lather from the roots x2
Then condition but not directly at the roots - more back of the head to the ends.
I don't use too much conditioner coz it's annoying to rinse out.

Answer:
i wash roots to tips with both shampoo and conditioner and i use probally bout twice as much as your suposed too! lol
Has anyone trialed it doing roots and tips with both and doing one and the other?? have you noticed a difference??

Answer:
I massage the shampoo into the roots and gently kind of rub the lather over the ends. Rinse out.
I don't use very much conditioner as I haven't found that I really need it very much - I rub it into the ends and midlenghts and sorta run my hands around the roots. Rinse out very very thoroughly, I hate conditionery hair. Towel pat dry and it'll dry straight.

Answer:
I only apply shampoo at the roots and let it rinse through to the ends. Then conditioner on my midlengths to ends only, but sometimes near my roots too if my hair feels dry.
