I'm obssessed with cutting my split ends!
Question:
Ok, so I was quite clueless and straightened and curled my hair with hair appliances without using heat protection. And now my former shiny, smooth hair is a fried mess! (Well the bottom bits mostly). I now use a heat protectant, but those fried bits at the bottom are really annoying me. I even had a trim, and they're still there. So recently, I've started to use my normal work scissors and started chopping away. It's not like I chop everything - just the split ends and fried curly bits at the bottom. And I realised today, that I'm getting obssessed. I keep looking around for bits to chop off. (I only chop off small short bits, not all over my head!) In fact, my obssession is getting bigger that I don't even care if my coworkers see me doing this! Does anyone else have this annoying habit? Answer: Haha I have this habit too. I used to bite my nails, now I look at my hair for split ends. But I don't think using work scissors is a good idea. It will actually make your hair worse in the long run. Buy some proper sharp hairdresser scissors. I bought some good hair dresser scissors, and limit myself to doing it only for a few mintes a day. As it can become an obsession! But I feel I have less split ends now I don't think its a good idea to do it at work though Answer: I do the same thing. I believe my hair grows alot faster from me doing this. Answer: I wonder if its a problem really that we use the normal work scissors, i do this too! I figure it ties over the split ends in between cuts... Answer: I'm exactly the same ! I do it at work when I'm bored...I've gotten rid of all of them now, but I still keep looking ! Answer: When I use to have long hair I got pretty obsessed with cutting my split ends. I would not really realise I was doing it then half an hour later I look around me and I have not done any more of my essay and I'm surrounded by little snipets of hair. Be strong! try to stop!! lol Answer: I just purchased a GHD and found that I now have heaps of split ends. On Friday at work I sat there chopping heaps off! I also sit at the traffic lights sometimes picking at them. Very bad habit! Answer: i would have thought that a GHD gave you less split ends that a normal straightener. anyways cutting with normal sissors/ sissors that are sharp is really bad because it gives you more split ends. Answer: I find that the best thing to do to beat this habit is to get rid of the split ends! Get a haircut and then start using some heavy duty conditioner for dry hair - Pantene and Herbal Essences Intensive Blends are both good ones. When you shampoo, apply a generous amount of the conditioner to your ends and if hair is long, clip it up out of the way while you soap up the rest of you (this is a nice little deep-conditioning treatment!). Rinse. Always comb hair with a wide tooth comb when wet. Avoid hairdryers and straighteners as often as you can. Try V05 Hot Oil every week. Good luck! Answer: eek. i have a real bad problem with snipping at my split ends! all my friends pay me out aswell but i can't help it. I was actually doing it about half an hour ago and yes i am at work haha Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
