Kippo or Ginger hair (Sydney)?? - Page 7
Question:
i have been giong to kippo since i was year 10! now i have graduated uni and working fulltime...
the hairdresser that i use to have my hair cut with has gone .. and i have been thinking of going to ginger for a long time (cos that hairdresser has gone there i think). now i have made up my mind!! i really need to go to a good HD cos i am gonna cut it SHORT!! ><" hehe
I do agree that kippo does not provide the best service, esp for aussie ppl, cos their eng is poor. Hair cuts are satisfactory. Since the "good hairdresser" has switched to another place, i have never walked out from kippo feeling brilliant, just "satisfactory".

And its not flat, my hair is straight but still has some nice subtle body to it.
Ginger gets a thumbs up !!!!
What is your hair like naturally Cyrienne?
xxo

Answer:
Calixto, you need to search the white pages
I searched the yellow pages, but nothing, then tried the white and bingo! But to save you time, their address is Shop 1a 388 Sussex Street Sydney. I'm hoping to go too (for straightening), do they get really booked out? What is the waiting list like? I guess I will find out when I go and visit them hehe xx

Answer:
Ugh? So Ginger is at Chinatown or Paddington or both
I think I have seen Ginger in Chinatown, but I am sure girls have been going to the one in Paddington

After hearing so many good things about Ginger on this and other threads I think I'm definitely going to take the plunge and try them out for straightening as well!

Answer:
I’m having a dilemma to whether to have my hair straightened again or not.
I have had it done twice. The first was with a hairdresser in Drummoyne and she was fantastic. It took ages and she said this was bcos my hair was virgin hair (unbleached or coloured) and the cost was cheap $300. I loved having it straightened, I’m lazy haha and I love the extra sleep time in the morning!!
After having it done, all I needed to do was wash and go. It would dry super smooth and shiny. However I did really miss the volume, movement and the original body I used to have in my hair. The thing with having it permanently straightened is that it goes quite limp if you have finer hair, sometimes giving you a harsh look on your features to what your used to. IMO I think thick curly or Asian hair would keep more of its shape.
So after a year of having it done, it started to go a tad frizzy or fluffy at the top and I decided I needed my regrowth doing. I didn’t want the whole head this time, I wanted to maintain some of my volume that had grown back over the year. I went into Kippo and they said that the application to only the top layers of my long hair would do the trick. Kippo assured me that there product was suitable for my hair type even if it wasn’t Shiseido. I had it done and then I went overseas.
Initially I didn’t notice a difference and I was happy with it. Then I started noticing my brush was accumulating a lot of hair when I brushed it & hairdressers started telling me every time I had my hair washed that my hair was falling out. I started having treatments every week when I washed it and taking protein tablets and silica tablets. In the end I have left it almost a 1& ½ years since I last had it done bcos my long hair thinned out so much on top.
These days my hair looks great but as soon as it comes close to any moisture it goes frizzy and messy. I really want my smooth shiny hair back but it again it’s only the top layer that really needs smoothing out. I have been to see Jessica at Tema Hair Zone for a cut and I would have it there. Jessica is great but I’m not sure whether to take the plunge again, as I don’t really want pencil straight hair again I prefer to have a more shape. Do ladies you have any suggestions for me?
