Hair Extension Thread
Question:
Everything About Hair Extensions Here
I am looking at getting hair extensions at Amore Hair. I know there used to be few threads but they are all over the place so I thought it would be good to have a main one. So if anyone has photos, recommodations, stories..please post here! I would love to know if anyone has had Amore hair ones before(they are the ones with little mirco clips, no weaves or glues)

Answer:
My sister got some incredible extensions, and so did a girlfriend of mine. you must really be prepared for a lot of maitenance, because they can look ratty once they start growing out.

Answer:
I had hair extensions done at Advanced Hair studio. I took them off after a month because after getting my much-wanted long hair, I realised that I like my short hair more .

Answer:
I had hair extensions put in back in Feb, however they weren't Amore. I had them 'glued' in using a special type of resin. I spent about 4 hours in the salon all up. First they thinned out my hair ALOT so that it wouldn't be too bulky when they added in the extensions. It is a very expensive process, so make really want them. Mine cost about $900 all up. Make sure you check out all of the costs involved before you go ahead. Salons charge per extension, so get a quote first, you'll prob need 100-120 extensions dpending on how long you want to go, (the longer you want to go the more extensions you need for a more natural look, about $7-10 per extension). Find out if they include maintenence visits in the cost - this helps because you WILL lose extensions no matter how well you care for them. They also charge to have them removed again. You'll also need to buy appropriate brushes, treatments and shampoos to care for them cause they get really knotty and dry. They only last 2 to 3 months as well cos your own hair grows and it all matts up at the roots....
All this said I tho I loved having mine and if you want them in again most of the time you can reuse the hair (check this out before you get them in) which saves alot of money second time around.

I had hair extensions a few years ago using Monofibre.... I didnt like them. It cost me $700 + specialised products. They lasted 1/2 a month before they started falling out and after 1 month i took them out. (They said they would last 3 months but now i dont believe them)
After paying that much and sitting in a chair for 8hrs AND being such a hair nut i looked after them exactly how they said. I had to wait a week before i had to come back in so the extensions could settle and so JLC could wash my hair and thin the extensions out. Before that they were bulky and horrible. (The colour match was pretty good tho!)
I had to plat my hair at night so it would pull too much, i had to hold my hair at the scalp when gently brushng to avoid pulling them out. When i washed my hair it was awful coz i couldnt get right in there with my fingers and massage the scalp so my scalp became sore and horrible from not washing it properly. They felt like Barbie Hair and itch my back when i wore a backless top.
After all that they took them out (which although i said i wasnt happy how they fell out so quickly i had to pay lots of $$ for-i wasnt going to demand to not pay for the service tho) Oh and when they came out they had thined out my natural hair when thining the extensions and the back of my hair was wispy and gross.
Basically i wish i had of gone somewhere better and paid more $$ you get what you pay for with extensions!

Answer:
yah, i think that tha amore hair will be better than the "glue" forms, does anyone know???? or have them??? PICS??

Answer:
I've had extensions for almost 20 months now and love them, couldn't live without my long hair. However, no matter what method you use (i had International but am about to switch to great lengths) make sure the person who does them knows what they're doing. The last lot i had put in the idiot girl didn't seal the bonds properly and as a result i lost so much extension hair. Also look into where the hair comes from. Hair extensions intl used to be great quality but the last two lots of 'new' hair felt like cheap ****. From experience asian hair hasn't worked for me and thats why i'm switching to indian virgin hair.

I am looking into getting hair extesions done by akinda magic in Darlinghurst.
I'm so bored with my hair at the moment that all I do is put it in a bun and forget about it. Akinda Magic can cost up to $2 500 though so I probably won't be getting them until 4 months time (some intense money saving going on here )
Does anyone know of any good but cheaper places which use a braid and weft method (no glue pls!) in Sydney???

Answer:
I bought the clip on ones off ebay, they're good for special occasions & look natural (they're real hair)...
