What kind of method are the great lengths extensions? I was nearly going to get GL's at one stage but heard some real horror story threads I heard they use keratin bonds that are melted onto your hair, and they are removed with an acetone type solution which destroys your hair

two of my friends recently got amore hair extentions done for $150 and they look absolutely fantastic!!! theyve got great colours also (different shades of blondes) and my other friend has black with some red..

the only thing is, my hair is very much layered, shortest layer being just below my ear + longest part of my length is mid shoulder blades..
do u think it will look ridiculous if i get long extentions and have very short pieces? like i know it should look fine, but its real hair VS extentions together..
i might check out the store and see what the ladies say!
for those that have them, have they been alot of matience? like can u see them if you tie your hair up.. etc etc..
easy to straighten/curl etc?

but im sure with a much more natural colour + alright length, that they would look hot!

HI,
I don't think it's the GL or the Keratine I think it's the Hair Dresser and their level of experience and if they are thorough or not. I can't speak highly enough of my HD and when i have my extensions out my hair is fine. It's not acetone they use but silicone to get it out...
Everyone has their own story I guess but my personal opinion is they are fantastic, I wouldn't keep getting them in if they were bad or damaging... i can email u pics if u like.

$150!??they got them for this much. When I went to get a quote there I got quoted $1500!

i bought the clip ins ages ago. They are okay, but your limited and you have to do a lot of teasing to hide the clips. Ive had them for so long that my hair is only 5cm shorter than the extensions, but they give a really nice volume to the hair. and sometimes i wear them curly sometimes i straighten them. They look good if you wear them to one side(Beyonce Style)
but im looking for something more permenant. IM sick of putting them in everyday and having to fix them and check them all the time
i spose clip ins are better for your hair as you can take them out at night but apart from that

Hi again, sorry to bother you but, how are your friends finding the day-to-day maintenance if their hair ie; washing, styling etc. Do you know if the small metal clips get in the way when washing the hair? I've heard that the metal clips can rip the hair right at the root (where they are joined), have your friends experienced this problem? How long have they had them in?
I've also been to the lady at Bankstowm (Jian) and she seemed like she knew what she was talking about. She actually quoted me $1,500 all up for 150 extension pieces. She charges $10 per extension, which is about right.
If you could let me know how your friends experience with the lady at Bankstown was, that would be great cos i'm considering going to get them done there.
I'm so excited i can't wait to get them in.......i want Victoria Beckham hair soooo bad! Especially for the party season which is just around the corner. I just want to make sure that they won't damage my own hair.

When you curl your clip-ins does the curling ruin the straightness of the hair? (i'm assuming you have straight extensions). Does the curl last for long? and does it look ok after you wash them? I've been wanting to curl mine for a while now, but I'm nervous, I love them straight and don't want wavy extensions. I can re-straighten them with my GHD, but I want to keep the damage to a minimal for the hair.
