Nice & Easy fans
Question:
I have been using Clairol Nice & Easy for years and very happy with it. Went to look up the Colour Gloss conditoner on internet to see if available on its own as it is brilliant! Came across a link that shows all the dangerous chemicals in their products. What really upset me was that they test on white rabbits and rats and put the dye in their eyes as well as in to the skin.
Don't think I can use it anymore because I will be seeing little rabbits not being able to blink their eyes to get the dye out.

I know how you feel. I am devastated! L'Oreal test on rabbits too. Am thinking of going with companies that don't, like Almay, Avon, Revlon, but they don't do hair dye. Goldwell don't use animals, nor does Aveda, Joico, KMS, Mastey, Paul Mitchell & Nexsus. Can use Goldwell.
We stopped wearing fur to help curb animal slaughter but do we do the same with cosmetics and hair products? Even Pantene test on amimals.

You may be aware that many products claiming to be "cruelty free" or "not tested on animals" actually contain ingredients that are tested on animals. The alleged "cruelty free" claim often refers to the final product; however, the majority of animal testing occurs through the supply chain and therefore these products actually contain ingredients tested on animals. Similarly, some companies state that "we" do not test on animals, when in fact they merely contract "someone else" to do the testing. These kinds of labels and claims are often confusing, and misleading, to consumers.
COMPANIES THAT DO NOT TEST ON ANIMALS
What about a product whose label says, ‘No Animal Testing,’ but whose manufacturing company is not on PETA’s ‘Don’t Test’ list?
Clairol’s Herbal Essence shampoo states that it is not tested on animals; Clairol, however, does test other products on animals
Why do some companies’ product labels say, ‘No Animal Ingredients,’ when, in fact, they contain beeswax, lanolin, whey, etc.?
Some companies are not educated about or sensitive to the suffering of animals in the production of certain products that do not involve the actual slaughter of the animal
The following companies manufacture products that ARE NOT tested on animals. Those marked with an asterisk (*) manufacture strictly vegan products—made without animal ingredients, such as milk and egg byproducts, slaughterhouse byproducts, lanolin from sheep, honey, or beeswax (for a list of animal ingredients and their alternatives, please contact PETA or visit CaringConsumer.com
