Question:
Just wondered what opinion is on keeping your hair long over 30.
When I was younger I always heard that women should really cut their hair shorter once they hit 30 because long hair looked too young.
I am now 31 and counting and have hair past my shoulder blades with quite a heavy blunt fringe and I am worried that it looks too young for my age.
Anybody relate?

I'm 30 and growing my hair super long. I don't believe in that once you hit 30 nonsense. If you like long hair keep it. I have an aunty who has hair down to her mid back and she's 55 and it looks great on her.

I admire 30+ women who have long hair, i think it looks totally stunning (im 20) and my husband (24) totally agrees that it looks gorgeous. So keep it long if its healthy!!!

It used to be that once women got married they stopped working and had children. It used to be that once women had their first child they put on 10 kg and wore housedresses...
I have a family friend who is 52 and has hair past her bum. She looks, acts and dresses like someone half her age.
For the record I am going to have long hair until it all falls out!!!

I do think older women look better with short hair. However, women in there 30's let alone early 30's are not old.
I say have it long, as long as it's healthy.
I would cut my hair shorter (just above the shoulders) in my 40's. But, then again look at Demi...I guess there are no rules, just what suits you.

I always thought the same as well! As soon as I reach that 30 milestone, off it comes...but as the years creep up slowly to that dreaded age (I am 26 at the moment) that means I only have 4 more years of beautiful hair left in me? Uh huh, no way.
I think as long as it looks good on the person, no matter what the age, keep it the long length if you want. I will probably keep mine long until I think it no longer suits me for my age.
But when I hit 80, I don't think hair down to my waist will be very practical

my aunt is 64 and has hair to her bum. she always wear its up in a bun or pinned in a clip.
my mum is also in her 40's with hair just past her shoulder...and its great.

I think if your hair is shiny and healthy, you can look lovely with long hair past 30 for sure. I think it is a misconception that woman over 30 should not keep their hair long.
