Question:
I am 31 and just cut my hair before my birthday. It was past my bra strap. I just got sick of looking after it because it was sooo thick and heavy.
I also cut it to get more respect at work and in general. I look alot younger and found people were not treating me like a woman of my years and experience.
But people still think I am early 20's anyway with short hair
I just find it easier for now but am still growing it back

oohhhh I'm turning 40 this year and have hair down to my bra strap and was just thinking the other day I might grow it quite a bit longer. I feel silly now....even although everyone here have said keep long hair in your 30s. But what about 40s? I have never had short hair and can't imagine chopping it all off. If I grow it long I can always wear it up somehow....

If long hair suits you and you like it, keep it.
I'm 37 and have long hair all my life, don't think I would ever cut it short since it doesn't suit me (above the shoulders).
I've learnt that as long as I'm happy I don't give a hoot about what other people say.

I've got to say there is a point where if it is long and you wear it down, it does age you, however older women who wear their hair up nearly always look fab IMHO!
I can't imagine having mine short but the same goes, I know (from looking at older family members) there is definitely going to be a point where I am only going to wear it up. That said I usually do anyway, I think it emphasises my cheekbones better!

I am on the wrong side of 40 and have been growing my hair long for the last 2 years - up until then I had a concave bob and wore it that way for years. I am undecided whether long is good or bad on me but I am enjoying it for a change.

My mother is about to turn 54 and has hair down to her waist. It looks fantastic, and its kind of become her signature look. She's VERY attached to it, and if she suddenly cut it off, I'd fear for her mental health!

I always had long hair to my bra strap. I cut it to very short (pixie) at my hubby's insistance when I was "getting old" at 25!!!!!

I cut it again when my first angel was born - I was 28 and again at 30 when my 2nd angel arrived.

That was the last time I cut it - I am 39 now and my hair is now just under my bra strap.

I keep getting told I look younger than I am.

May I just say - that I have grown up with the idea that once you reach 30 - a lady should keep her hair short - well that ain't working for this gal !!!!!!!!!!!
