Question:
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
This morning my hair straightener was warming up on the carpet, and i stood on it and it kind of clamp - burned my foot!!! I have a blister line on the top of my foot and one on the sole which is extremely painful, it has got to have been the most ******** thing I have done in a while!!
Please tell me someone else has done something as gumby!!

Haven't done it too myself but a few years back when I was curling my sisters hair with tongs, I managed to hold the tongs against the top of her ear and burnt her quite badly - she still has the scar!

I burnt my forehead with a straightener and have also stood on the straightener when i put it on the floor, but lucky i had turned it off so the burn wasnt as bad as it could have been....

My boyfriend and I were sitting on the carpet kissing, and I went to move my GHD out of the way (ahem) and picked it up by the plates. It took a couple of seconds for it to register that it was still on and a long time for my hand to heal. The blister was freakin massive. Kinda spoiled the mood...

I've burned my ear with the straightener before, it was very painful. Also I don't know how I managed this, but I burned my left wrist with the inside corner of my straightener, so now I have this triangle scar on my wrist.

Ugh, I too have burnt my ear. OW OW OW! SO burnt. It singed right before I watched. The little wrinkly scab appeared, then fell off. Ow. LOL.
I've also burnt my hand. That hurt too. That's it though. I've been really careful since these injuries.

I sat on mine while it was hot and had a little line-blister! I just sat awkwardly for a few weeks until it got better.
Also, when doing my fringe not infront of a mirror - i tend to clamp too close to the roots and burn my forehead. My friends always point out the little lines and peeling skin
Oh and i've left mine on a wooden set of drawers and burnt a V shape in to them. I put a vase on top of it now...

and the other day i was cleaning the BBQ and i burnt my hair (so bad cant wear it down for a while till it growns back) LOL funny now!!

Hehe. Well, you know, luck you moved it. Could've been worse...
Remember crimpers? I crimped my earlobe once. Also I managed to burn a long line into my scalp with curling tongs on several occasions.
And of course, it goes without saying, that some of the hairstyles I've sported over the years have done irrepairable damage to my pride. But that's for another thread.

My friend just the other day whilst straightening her hair.. saw her straightener fall to the ground... in a quick move she quickly caught it.... the hot plate against her hands!!..... and what makes it worse is that it must of been the first thing shes ever caught! She hates sport and the one time she does something right... it burns her silly girl
